Abstract

A method, a system and a computer program for a feature game of a multidimensional grid to be used together with a base game. A player may play an initial base game and elect to play the feature game. The player may be provided with a ticket that becomes a winning ticket if some or all of the characters in the multidimensional grid adjoin so as to produce a winning line of horizontal, vertical or diagonal matching characters with a winning set of characters. More than one winning line is possible on each game ticket, producing multiple ways of winning on a single game ticket.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 20 . (canceled)

21 . A system for executing a game of chance comprising a multidimensional grid that includes a plurality of characters, said system comprising:
a grid generator configured to generate a multidimensional grid comprising a plurality of cells, each of the cells being populated by a character randomly selected from a set of characters; a first determiner configured to process the grid when each of the characters included in the grid is repeated fewer than a predetermined number of times; and a second determiner configured to determine all possible winning combinations within the grid and process the grid when all the winning combinations of the grid incremented with winning combinations from stored grids is below a predetermined threshold.

22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the multidimensional grid includes a total of nine cells in a 3×3 arrangement.

23 . The system of claim 22 , wherein a winning combination includes a sequence of three characters and each grid includes a total of eight sequences.

24 . The system of claim 22 , wherein the first determiner processes the grid when each of the characters is repeated within the grid fewer than four times.

25 . The system of claim 22 , wherein the set of characters includes numbers 0 through 9.

26 . A method of conducting a lottery game, comprising:
receiving a plurality of requests to play the lottery game from a plurality of players; generating cards for each of said plurality of players, each of said cards including a first game comprising a first sequence of characters, and a second game comprising a multidimensional grid selected from a bank of grids with one or more additional sequences of the characters, each of the characters in the grid being randomly selected from a set of said characters; after the plurality of cards are generated, randomly selecting three or more of the characters as a winning combination; awarding a first prize to said cards with the winning combination matching the first sequence; and awarding a second prize to said cards with the winning combination matching any of the second sequences.

27 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the set of characters includes the numbers 0-9.

28 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the winning combination includes a sequence of three characters.

29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the first sequence of characters includes three characters.

30 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the multidimensional grid is 3×3 and includes a total of nine cells that each includes one of the characters.

31 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the same character is positioned within two or more of the cells.

32 . The method of claim 26 , further comprising increasing the second prize when the grid includes multiple occurrences of the winning combination.

33 . The method of claim 26 , further comprising providing one of the plurality of cards to one of the plurality of players when each of the characters included in the grid on the card is repeated fewer than a predetermined number of times.

34 . A method of conducting a lottery game, comprising:
generating a plurality of cards each including a first game comprising a first sequence of three characters selected from a set of characters, and a second game comprising a three-by-three grid with nine cells forming a plurality of additional three-character sequences selected from the set of characters; after the plurality of cards are generated, randomly selecting three of the characters as a winning combination; awarding a first prize to said cards with the winning combination matching the first sequence; and awarding a second prize to said cards with the winning combination matching any of the additional sequences.

35 . The method of claim 34 , wherein each of the additional three-character sequences appears in the grid in a straight line that is one of horizontal, vertical, and diagonal.

36 . The method of claim 34 , wherein the set of characters includes the numbers 0-9.

37 . The method of claim 34 , wherein the same character is positioned within two or more of the cells.

38 . The method of claim 34 , further comprising increasing the second prize when the grid includes multiple occurrences of the winning combination.

39 . The method of claim 34 , wherein the same character appears at least twice in the winning combination.
