Abstract

A waste disposal device includes a housing and a diaphragm having a plurality of slits. The diaphragm is positioned in the housing to hold a flexible tubing while the flexible tubing is being twisted to encapsulate a waste package that has been inserted into the flexible tubing.

1 . A waste disposal device comprising:
 a housing;   a diaphragm having a plurality of slits, said diaphragm positioned in said housing to hold a flexible tubing while the flexible tubing is being twisted to encapsulate a waste package that has been inserted into the flexible tubing.   
     
     
         2 . The waste disposal device of  claim 1 , wherein said twisting of the flexible tubing is accomplished by rotating said diaphragm and holding a portion of the flexible tubing stationary. 
     
     
         3 . The waste disposal device of  claim 1 , wherein the flexible tubing has a first portion above said diaphragm and a second portion below said diaphragm while the flexible tubing is being twisted. 
     
     
         4 . The waste disposal device of  claim 1 , wherein the flexible tubing is held by a cartridge. 
     
     
         5 . The waste disposal device of  claim 4 , wherein the twisting of the flexible tubing is accomplished by rotating said diaphragm and holding the cartridge stationary. 
     
     
         6 . The waste disposal device of  claim 4 , wherein the cartridge is housed in the housing to impede rotation of the cartridge. 
     
     
         7 . The waste disposal device of  claim 1 , further comprising a rotation mechanism that rotates and twists the flexible tubing. 
     
     
         8 . The waste disposal device of  claim 1 , wherein the rotation mechanism rotates the diaphragm. 
     
     
         9 . The waste disposal device of  claim 7 , wherein the rotation mechanism rotates a cartridge that holds the flexible tubing. 
     
     
         10 . The waste disposal device of  claim 9 , wherein rotation of said diaphragm is impeded. 
     
     
         11 . The waste disposal device of  claim 7 , wherein the rotation mechanism rotates and twists the flexible tubing after the flexible tubing containing the waste package passes through an opening in the diaphragm.
