Abstract

A collar support for supporting a shirt collar or the like that includes a flexible body carrying pressure sensitive adhesive bodies for adhesive coupling to a garment, wherein a planar surface surrounds each pressure sensitive adhesive body to minimize or eliminate accidental adhesion to the garment that may interfere with proper installation of the collar support to the garment.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A collar support comprising:
a flexible body having a first planar surface at a first end thereof surrounding a first pressure sensitive adhesive body and a second planar surface at a second end thereof opposite said first end, each said planar surface extending from respective peripheral edges of said flexible body toward a respective pressure sensitive adhesive body, said planar surfaces being able to slip on fabric more readily than said pressure sensitive adhesive bodies.

2 . The collar support of claim 1 , wherein said pressure sensitive adhesive bodies are directly adhered to said flexible body.

3 . The collar support of claim 2 , wherein said flexible body includes a slot located between said first end and said second end, said first pressure sensitive adhesive being located spaced from one edge of said slot, and said second pressure sensitive adhesive being located spaced from another opposite edge of said slot.

4 . The collar support of claim 1 , further comprising a first window defined in said flexible body, a second window defined in said flexible body, a first substrate having a surface area larger than said first window and including said first pressure sensitive adhesive on a surface thereof, a second substrate having a surface area larger than said second window and including said second pressure sensitive adhesive body on a surface thereof, wherein a portion of said first pressure sensitive body surrounds said first window and is disposed between said flexible body and said first substrate, and a portion of said second pressure sensitive adhesive body surrounds said second window and is disposed between said flexible body and said second substrate.

5 . The collar support of claim 1 , further comprising a first window defined in said flexible body and including a top edge adjacent said first planar surface and a bottom edge adjacent a bottom surface opposite said first planar surface, and a second window defined in said flexible body and including a top edge adjacent said second planar surface and a bottom edge adjacent a bottom surface opposite said second planar surface, each said pressure sensitive adhesive body being disposed at a respective second edge vertically spaced from a respective first edge.

6 . The collar support of claim 5 , wherein said flexible body is arcuate.

7 . The collar support of claim 1 , wherein said flexible body is arcuate.

8 . The collar support of claim 1 , wherein said flexible body is comprised of cardboard.

9 . The collar support of claim 1 , wherein said flexible body is comprised of plastic.

         10 . A collar support, comprising:
an elongated flexible body having a first planar top surface and a second planar bottom surface opposite said first planar top surface, a first window defined at a first end of said elongated flexible body to allow access from said first planar top surface to said second planar bottom surface, a second window defined at a second end of said elongated flexible body to allow access from said first planar top surface to said second planar bottom surface, a first substrate spanning said first window and having a first pressure sensitive adhesive on a first surface thereof adhering to said first planar top surface, a second substrate spanning said second window and having a second pressure sensitive adhesive on a first surface thereof adhering to said first planar top surface, said first pressure sensitive adhesive and said second pressure sensitive adhesive being accessible through said first window and through said second window respectively from said second planar bottom surface.

11 . The collar support of claim 10 , wherein said elongated flexible body is arcuate.

12 . The collar support of claim 10 , wherein said elongated flexible body is comprised of cardboard.

13 . The collar support of claim 10 , wherein said elongated flexible body is comprised of plastic.

14 . The collar support of claim 10 , further comprising another elongated flexible body hingedly coupled to said elongated flexible body.

15 . The collar support of claim 14 , wherein said another flexible body includes a third planar top surface and a fourth planar bottom surface opposite said third planar top surface, a third window defined at a first end of said another elongated flexible body to allow access from said third planar top surface to said fourth planar bottom surface, a fourth window defined at a second end of said another elongated flexible body to allow access from said third planar top surface to said fourth planar bottom surface, a third substrate spanning said third window and having a third pressure sensitive adhesive on a first surface thereof adhering to said third planar top surface, a fourth substrate spanning said fourth window and having a fourth pressure sensitive adhesive on a first surface thereof adhering to said third planar top surface, the third pressure sensitive adhesive and said fourth pressure sensitive adhesive being accessible through said third window and through said fourth window respectively from said fourth planar bottom surface.

16 . The collar of claim 15 , wherein said elongated flexible body and said another elongated flexible body are arcuate.

17 . The collar of claim 15 , wherein said elongated flexible body and said another elongated flexible body are coupled to one another via a decorative element, said decorative element being hingedly coupled to said elongated flexible bodies.

18 . The collar of claim 15 , wherein said windows are rectangular.
