Wallet Consolidator to Facilitate a Transaction
Abstract
A wallet consolidator to warehouse information pertaining to at least one card and to retrieve the warehoused information to facilitate a transaction is provided. An embodiment of a Wallet consolidator can include a housing, one or more input devices positioned to receive information, and a memory device positioned to store at least a portion of the information received by the one or more input devices. The wallet consolidator can also include a radio frequency wireless communication interface associated with the housing and adapted to communicate with a point-of-sale terminal thereby to provide at least a portion of the Information stored in the memory device to the point-of-sale terminal, a display screen, and a controller positioned within the housing in communication with and to control each of the one or more input devices, the memory device, the radio frequency wireless communication interface, and the display screen.
Claims

a housing; a display device supported by the housing; a wireless telecommunication interface located within the housing and configured to communicate over a wireless telecommunication network with a remote database and to receive therefrom coupon information; a memory located within the housing and configured to store:
the coupon information,
identification information relating to a user of the wireless telephone, and
electronic commerce information relating to at least one of a credit card, a debit card, and an identification card,
a controller located within the housing and configured to display the coupon information on the display device; and an interface located within the housing and configured to transmit to a point-of-sale terminal at least one of:
the coupon information,
the identification information, and
the electronic commerce information.
2 . The wireless telephone of claim 1 , wherein the wireless telecommunication interface is configured to communicate over a wireless telecommunication network with a remote database and to receive therefrom at least one of the identification information and the electronic commerce information.
3 . The wireless telephone of claim 1 , further comprising an alphanumeric keypad supported by the housing.
4 . The wireless telephone of claim 3 , wherein the display device is touch sensitive and wherein alphanumeric keypad comprises an alphanumeric keypad displayed on the touch sensitive display device.
5 . The wireless telephone of claim 1 , wherein the displayed coupon information is a bar code associated with coupon information.
6 . The wireless telephone of claim 1 , further comprising:
an optical device capable of reading a bar code and supported by the housing.
7 . The wireless telephone of claim 1 , wherein the memory is selected from the group consisting essentially of semiconductor memory, a smart card, flash, RAM, magnetic memory, optical memory, and combinations thereof.
8 . A communications device comprising:
means for receiving electronic commerce information; means for receiving user identification information; means for receiving coupon information; means for storing the electronic commerce information; means for storing the user identification information; means for storing the coupon information; means for transmitting the electronic commerce information to a point-of-sale terminal; means for transmitting the coupon information to the point-of-sale terminal; means for transmitting the user identification information to the point-of-sale terminal; means for displaying at least one of the electronic commerce information, the user identification information, and the coupon information to a user; and means for selecting at least one of the electronic commerce information, the user identification information, and the coupon information for transmission to the point-of-sale terminal.
9 . The communication device of claim 8 , further comprising:
means for transmitting to a remote database information relating to a point-of-sale transaction consummated using the communication device.

The communication device of claim 8 , wherein the means for receiving coupon information, the means for receiving electronic commerce information, and the means for receiving user identification information, respectively, comprises an element selected from the group consisting of a scanner, an image digitizer, a wireless telecommunication interface, a bar code reader, a magnetic stripe reader and an optical device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
