System for animal health diagnosis
Abstract
A diagnosis of the health of an animal is obtained through a combination of computerized data and human interpretation. Data relates to the physical characteristics of the animal, and includes data obtained from a physical inspection of the animal. A blood or other fluid sample is used to obtain a computer generated laboratory analysis. This is reported through an internet network to the clinical pathologist. The clinical pathologist has the data relating to the physical characteristics, and thereby makes a diagnosis of the animal health. A drop-down menu on a computer screen provides supplemental reports to support the diagnosis. This can be enhanced by further input from the pathologist through keyboard entry into the computer to obtain an integrated computer report having the laboratory analysis, supplemental report, and selectively an enhanced report. The integrated report is electronically communicated to a client.

74 . A method for dietary modification for a canine or feline companion animal comprising employing a computer; at least one database coupled to the computer; and at least one software routine executing on the computer which is programmed to perform steps of:
(a) identifying genotype data for a canine or feline companion animal from a genotype database, wherein the animal belongs to a particular genotype group, and wherein the genotype data comprises DNA mapping data; (b) identifying physical and health information for the animal from a phenotype database, wherein the physical and health information comprises at least one of breed, phenotypic descriptors, past and current nutritional information, and serum nutrient or vitamin data for the animal in the genotype group identified from the first data set; (c) determining nutritional requirements for the animal by performing nutritional analysis of the physical and health information for the animal in the genotype group identified from the first data set; (d) determining a relationship between the genotype data, physical and health information, and the nutritional requirements for the animal in the genotype group identified from the first data set based on statistical analysis; and (e) designing a dietary modification for the animal based on the relationship from step (d), wherein the dietary modification includes at least one of the addition or subtraction of foods, supplements, and nutraceuticals needed by the animal.

(a) identifying genotype data for a canine or feline companion animal from a genotype database, wherein the animal belongs to a particular genotype group, and wherein the genotype data comprises genomic mapping data; (b) identifying physical and health information for the animal from a phenotype database, wherein the physical and health information comprises at least one of breed, phenotypic descriptors, past and current nutritional information, and serum nutrient or vitamin data for the animal in the genotype group identified from the first data set; (c) determining nutritional requirements for the animal by performing nutritional analysis of the physical and health information for the animal in the genotype group identified from the first data set; (d) determining a relationship between the genotype data, physical and health information, and the nutritional requirements for the animal in the genotype group identified from the first data set based on statistical analysis; and (e) designing a dietary modification for the animal based on the relationship from step (d), wherein the dietary modification includes at least one of the addition or subtraction of foods, supplements, and nutraceuticals needed by the animal.
76 . A system for dietary modification for a group of canine or feline companion animals, comprising employing a computer; at least one database coupled to the computer; and at least one software routine executing on the computer which is programmed to perform steps of:
