Abstract
The invention comprises a method of treatment of CNS disorders by a pharmaceutical agent exhibiting combined noradrenergic, serotonergic or dopaminergic reuptake transporter inhibitory and μ-opioid agonistic activity.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of treatment of a central nervous system disorder in a mammalian subject comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical agent exhibiting combined μ-opioid agonistic activity and at least one of a noradrenergic, serotonergic or dopaminergic reuptake transporter inhibitory activity.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said CNS disorder is selected from a major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, autism, aggression, intermittent explosive disorder, attachment disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and schizophrenia.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said pharmaceutical agent exhibits combined μ-opioid agonistic activity, and a noradrenergic, serotonergic and dopaminergic reuptake transporter inhibitory activity.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein said agent is mazindol.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein mazindol is administered in the amount of from 0.1 mg/day to 20 mg/day.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein mazindol is administered in the amount of from 0.5 mg/day to 6 mg/day.
7 . The method of claim 4 , wherein mazindol is administered from 1 to 3 times a day.
8 . The method of claim 4 , wherein said disorder is an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
9 . A pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of central nervous system disorders comprising from 0.1 mg to 20 mg of mazindol and a pharmaceutical carrier.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
