Systems and methods for improved health care compliance
Abstract
Systems, apparatus, methods, and articles of manufacture may provide for improved health care compliance. Embodiments may comprise, for example, identifying an occurrence of an event associated with the taking of a substance by a patient, determining output information associated with a game, and providing the output information to the patient. Some embodiments may comprise receiving a code associated with a patient, wherein the code includes encoded information that is indicative of an occurrence of an event associated with the taking of a substance by a patient, decoding the code to determine the information, determining whether the occurrence of the event is compliant with a condition associated with the taking of the substance, and providing, in the case that compliance with the condition is determined, one or more rewards to the patient.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A health care compliance module, comprising:
a sensor operable to detect an occurrence of an event associated with a health care regimen of a patient, wherein the health care regimen comprises an exercise goal; a processing device operable to determine, based on a detection, by the sensor, of the occurrence of the event associated with the health care regimen of the patient, output information associated with a game; and an output device operable to provide, to the patient, an indication of the output information associated with the game.
2 . The health care compliance module of claim 1 , wherein the sensor comprises a sensor coupled to receive information associated with a health-related metric from an exercise device associated with the patient.
3 . The health care compliance module of claim 2 , wherein the processing device is further operable to determine whether the information associated with a health-related metric indicates compliance with the exercise goal.
4 . The health care compliance module of claim 3 , wherein the processing device is further operable to alter a setting of the exercise device.
5 . The health care compliance module of claim 4 , wherein the processing device is further operable to determine the alteration of the setting of the exercise device, based on the information associated with a health-related metric and the exercise goal.
6 . The health care compliance module of claim 4 , wherein the setting of the exercise device comprises one or more of (i) a difficulty, (ii) a slope, and (iii) a speed.
7 . The health care compliance module of claim 2 , wherein the information associated with the health-related metric comprises a heart rate of the patient.
8 . The health care compliance module of claim 1 , wherein the sensor comprises a heart rate sensor.
9 . The health care compliance module of claim 1 , wherein the output information associated with the game comprises one or more of (i) an animated representation of an artificial creature, (ii) a picture of a friend, family member, or celebrity, and (iii) an olfactory indicator.
10 . The health care compliance module of claim 1 , wherein the output information associated with the game comprises a sound recording of one or more of: (i) a friend, (ii) family member, and (iii) a celebrity.
11 . The health care compliance module of claim 1 , wherein the output information comprises one or more of:
(i) a game result; (ii) a game hint or clue; (iii) an indication of a prize; (iv) an indication of a contingent prize; (v) a bingo number; (vi) a slot machine reel symbol; (vii) a card value; (viii) a lotto number; (ix) a coordinate associated with game; (x) an instruction associated with a game; and (xi) a personal identification number.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
