Increased efficiency dual rotational electric motor/generator
Abstract
An enhanced dual rotational electric motor/generator includes an armature that rotates about a central axis in one direction, a stator that rotates about the central axis in an opposite direction, an axle that extends along the central axis and is secured to the armature, an axle support, a rotational output alignment mechanism for converting the opposite rotations of the armature and stator into a common rotational output direction, and an electrical connection mechanism that supplies functioning electrical communication between the motor/generator and external electrical circuitry while operating the motor/generator.

iii. electrical conducting windings incorporated into at least one of said rotational members in the apparatus;
iv. means for creating a magnetic field incorporated into at least one of said rotational members in the apparatus;
v. an electrical control system; and
vi. means for communicating electrical signals between said windings and said electrical control system and
b. utilizing the dual rotational member assembly incorporated electrical apparatus to increase the efficiency of the electrical apparatus over a traditional single rotational member containing electrical apparatus.
2 . An efficiency increasing method according to claim 1 , wherein said apparatus is configured as a dual rotational member generator.
3 . An efficiency increasing method according to claim 1 , wherein said apparatus is configured as a dual rotational member motor.
4 . A method for increasing the efficiency of an electric motor associated energy-requiring and work-producing system, comprising the steps:
a. selecting a dual rotational member electric motor, wherein said dual rotational member electric motor comprises:
i. an inner rotational member;
ii. an outer rotational member;
iii. electromagnetic means for creating opposite rotation of said inner and said outer rotational members when an electric current is input into said dual rotational electric motor;
iv. a first drive output means connected to said inner rotational member;
v. a second drive output means connected to said outer rotational member; and
vi. means for utilizing said first and said second drive means to produce output work and
b. utilizing said dual rotational member electric motor with the associated energy-requiring work-producing system to increase the efficiency of the system by including said dual rotational motor in a standard system replacing a traditional single rotational motor.
5 . A method for increasing the ratio of power output to power input for an electromechanical system, comprising:
a. selecting a first electromechanical assembly that includes a traditional electric motor comprised of:
i. a stationary electromagnetic component and
ii. a rotational electromagnetic component, wherein said stationary and rotational electromagnetic components have a common central axis and said rotational electromagnetic component rotates about said common central axis during operation of said first electromechanical assembly;
b. replacing said first electromechanical assembly with a second electromechanical assembly that includes a counter-rotating electric motor comprised of:
i. a first rotational electromagnetic member and
ii. a second rotational electromagnetic member, wherein said first and second rotational electromagnetic members rotate in opposite directions about a common axis to convert electrical input power into mechanical output power to achieve the increase in the ratio of power output to power input.
