Methods of providing a registry service and a registry service

Abstract

An apparatus comprises a concrete good and an identifier. The concrete good includes information relating to a particular person, such as a deceased person. The identifier is on or near the concrete good and indicates that additional information relating to the particular person is available online. The identifier may be configured to provide automatic acquisition of the additional information available online in response to scanning the identifier. For instance, the identifier may include a bar code or some other kind of identifier.

1 . An apparatus, comprising:
 (a) a concrete good including information relating to a particular deceased person, wherein the information included on the concrete good includes the name of the particular deceased person, wherein the information included on the concrete good further indicates that the particular person is deceased; and   (b) an identifier on or near the concrete good indicating that additional information relating to the particular deceased person is available online, wherein the identifier is further configured to provide automatic acquisition of the additional information available online in response to scanning the identifier.   
     
     
         2 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , further comprising an online registry accessible via the internet, wherein the online registry includes the additional information relating to the particular deceased person. 
     
     
         3 . A method of processing information, the method comprising:
 (a) receiving information relating to a particular person, wherein at least some of the information is received from a customer;   (b) producing a concrete good based on the information relating to the particular person; and   (c) providing the produced concrete good to the customer, wherein the provided concrete good further includes an identifier indicating that additional information relating to the particular person is available online.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the act of receiving information comprises receiving information via an online portal. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the act of producing a concrete good comprises generating print media, wherein the act of providing the produced concrete good comprises providing the print media to the customer. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the produced concrete good indicates that the particular person is deceased. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 3 , further comprising providing online access to the additional information relating to the particular person. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the act of providing online access to the additional information relating to the particular person comprises comprising providing online access to the additional information relating to the particular person via one or both of a phone or a hand held computing device. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 3 , further comprising enabling additional persons to submit additional information relating to the particular person. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the act of enabling additional persons to submit additional information relating to the particular person comprises providing online access to the additional persons to a storage medium via a website. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 3 , further comprising receiving a selection of media type by the customer, wherein the produced concrete good comprises a good of the media type selected by the customer. 
     
     
         12 . An apparatus, comprising:
 (a) a concrete good including information relating to a particular person; and   (b) an identifier on or near the concrete good indicating that additional information relating to the particular person is available online.   
     
     
         13 . The apparatus of  claim 12 , wherein the concrete good comprises a memorial relating to the particular person. 
     
     
         14 . The apparatus of  claim 13 , wherein the memorial comprises a headstone. 
     
     
         15 . The apparatus of  claim 12 , wherein the information included on the concrete good relating to the particular person indicates that the particular person is deceased. 
     
     
         16 . The apparatus of  claim 12 , wherein the identifier comprises a URL. 
     
     
         17 . The apparatus of  claim 12 , wherein the identifier is configured to provide automatic access to the online additional information relating to the particular person upon scanning the identifier. 
     
     
         18 . The apparatus of  claim 17 , wherein the identifier comprises a bar code. 
     
     
         19 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , further comprising a storage medium storing the additional information relating to the particular person, wherein the storage medium is accessible via the internet. 
     
     
         20 . The apparatus of  claim 19 , wherein the storage medium further stores information relating to a plurality of other persons.
