Abstract
A method of controlling a display apparatus includes: displaying a pointer corresponding motion of a user, in which the user's motion is analyzed on the basis of images generated by sensing the user; and generating an input signal preset corresponding to the analyzed motion of the user. With this configuration, a user can input a command without using an additional physical device or being subject to spatial limitations.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of controlling a display apparatus, comprising:
sensing motions of a user's hand; displaying a virtual input unit and a virtual hand put on the virtual input unit upon sensing a first motion of the user's hand; displaying the virtual input unit and the virtual hand which are changed corresponding to a second motion of the user's hand; and generating an input signal based on a position of the virtual hand with respect to the virtual input unit.
2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the virtual input unit comprises a virtual keyboard with a plurality of keys,
the sensing comprises sensing motions of user's fingers, and the generating comprises generating the input signal based on the position of fingers of the virtual hand with respect to the plurality of keys of the virtual keyboard.
3 . The method according to claim 2 , wherein the displaying the virtual hand put on the virtual input unit comprises displaying a predetermined finger of the virtual hand put on a predetermined key of the virtual keyboard.
4 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first motion of the user's hand is determined to be sensed if a quantity of light is alternately increased and decreased in a sensed image.
5 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising displaying a second virtual input unit with a pointer upon sensing a third motion of the user's hand.
6 . A display apparatus comprising:
an image sensing unit which senses motions of a user's hand; an image processor which processes an image to be displayed; a display unit which displays the processed image; a controller which controls the image processor to display a virtual input unit and a virtual hand put on the virtual input unit upon sensing a first motion of the user's hand and to display the virtual input unit and the virtual hand which are changed corresponding to a second motion of the user's hand, and generates an input signal based on a position of the virtual hand with respect to the virtual input unit.
7 . The display apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the virtual input unit comprises a virtual keyboard with a plurality of keys,
the image sensing unit senses motions of user's fingers, and the controller generates the input signal based on the position of fingers of the virtual hand with respect to the plurality of keys of the virtual keyboard.
8 . The display apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the controller controls the image processor to display a predetermined finger of the virtual hand put on a predetermined key of the virtual keyboard.
9 . The display apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the controller determines that the first motion of the user's hand is sensed if a quantity of light is alternately increased and decreased in a sensed image.
