Abstract
Various embodiments include two-stroke stratified engines and dual passage carburetors for use with gaseous fuel and liquid fuels. A stratified air-head engine having a simpler intake manifold with a single air pipe for induction of air is included.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A dual passage carburetor ( 9000 ) comprising:
a main throttle body ( 401 ); a secondary throttle body ( 8901 ); at least one fuel orifice ( 411 b ) in the secondary throttle body ( 8901 ); an air only passage 8310 in the main throttle body ( 401 ); an air only valve 81 b; a rich charge passage 8300 ; a rich valve 994 b, in which the air only valve 81 b and rich valve 994 b are inter connected through a linkage 9408 ; a fuel metering chamber ( 317 ); at least one fuel passage ( 220 b ) connecting fuel metering chamber ( 317 ) to the at least one fuel orifice ( 411 b ) in the secondary throttle body ( 8901 ); a fuel inlet ( 620 ); and at least one fuel orifice in the rich charge passage ( 8300 ).
2 . A stratified engine including:
a housing; a crankshaft 22 ; an oil tank 140 ; an intake port 84 ; a simple manifold (heat dam) 904 c; at least one air pipe 88 with at least one one-way valve 89 at the end of the air pipe 88 ; the carburetor of claim 1 embedded within the engine; at least one transfer passage 11 having at least one transfer port 33 , in which the at least one transfer passage 11 is intermittently connected to ambient air through the at least one air pipe 88 and through the at least one one-way valve 89 , in which the at least one air pipe 88 connects the air only passage in carburetor 9000 to the top of transfer passage 11 .
3 . The engine of claim 2 in which the carburetor delivers an air-fuel with oil mist for lubricating the engine.
4 . A stratified engine 360 having:
a piston 2016 ;
a combustion chamber 30 ;
at least one intake port 84 ;
at least one exhaust port 50 ;
at least one transfer passage 11 ;
at least one transfer port 33 ;
a simple manifold (heat dam) 904 c;
a crankcase chamber 26 , in which the crankcase chamber 26 and combustion chamber 30 are intermittently connected to each other as the piston 2016 moves upward and downward;
a crankshaft 22 having a crank web 21 ;
a connecting rod 18 ;
a cylinder 2012 ;
a single air pipe 87 , in which the air pipe 87 diverges into at least two air pipes 89 ′ and 89 ″, one on each side of the cylinder 2012 and with at least one one-way valve at the end of each air pipe 89 ′ and 89 ″; and
a single exit air throttle body 8902 .
5 . The engine of claim 2 further comprising:
a crankcase chamber 26 ;
two transfer passages 11 intermittently connecting the crankcase chamber 26 to the combustion chamber 30 ; and
a U-shaped pipe with a first port at the base of the U for receiving gas from the carburetor, and second and third ports at the respective tips of the U, said second and third ports for delivering gas to the respective transfer passages 11 .
6 . The engine of claim 5 in which the pipe is a single component.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
