Abstract

A safety cabinet includes an enclosure defining an opening and a door rotatably attached to the enclosure. The door is movable between an open position and a closed position, the door configured to selectively cover the enclosure when in the closed position. The safety cabinet comprises a spill-sloped shelf for directing fluid into a sump area of the cabinet and preventing damage to objects in the safety cabinet or harm to users of the safety cabinet.

Claims

1 - 18 . (canceled)

         19 . A spill-sloped shelf for a safety cabinet comprising:
a support surface having a perimeter; a flange depending from the perimeter of the support surface; a pair of first mounting surfaces disposed in the flange; a pair of second mounting surfaces disposed in the flange; wherein the first mounting surfaces are each disposed a first distance away from the perimeter of the support surface, and the second mounting surfaces are each disposed a second distance away from the perimeter of the support surface, the first distance being different than the second distance.

20 . The safety cabinet of claim 19 , wherein the perimeter of the support surface is rectangular having a pair of opposing ends, the flange extending around the perimeter and having a corresponding pair of opposing ends, each end of the flange having a first mounting surface and a second mounting surface, the first mounting surfaces being in opposing relationship to each other, and the second pair of mounting surfaces being in opposing relationship to each other.

21 . The safety cabinet of claim 20 , wherein each end of the flange includes a third mounting surface and a fourth mounting surface, the third mounting surfaces being in opposing relationship to each other, and the fourth pair of mounting surfaces being in opposing relationship to each other, wherein the third mounting surfaces are each disposed a third distance away from the perimeter of the support surface, and the fourth mounting surfaces are each disposed a fourth distance away from the perimeter of the support surface, the third distance being different than the fourth distance.

22 . The safety cabinet of claim 21 , wherein the third distance is substantially the same as the first distance, and the fourth distance is substantially the same as the second distance.

23 . The safety cabinet of claim 22 , wherein, at each end of the flange, the first and third mounting surfaces are disposed outwardly of the second and fourth mounting surfaces, and the fourth mounting surface is disposed between the first and second mounting surfaces.
