Abstract
Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for ranking products using multiple data sources are provided. A computerized ranking system includes a ranking engine, loaders, and a presentation component. The ranking engine calculates a score for each product based on multiple counts logged by data sources. Loaders communicatively connected to the ranking engine provide the counts to the data sources. The presentation component generates a ranked product list for display on client devices in response to requests for a list of popular products.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . One or more computer-readable media storing computer-usable instructions that cause one or more processors to perform a method that displays products, the method comprising:
obtaining a multivariable score for a product's relative popularity within a collection of products; generating a graphical user interface to display the product and the multivariable score; and updating the graphical user interface to show changes to the multivariable score of the product on a scale relative to a life of the product.
2 . The media of claim 1 , wherein the graphical user interface illustrates changes in the multivariable score over a specified period time.
3 . The media of claim 1 , wherein products are classified as climbers or decliners based on the magnitude and direction of the change associated with the product's multivariable score.
4 . A computer-implemented method to display popular products, the method comprising:
obtaining a multivariable score for a product's relative popularity within a collection of products; generating a graphical user interface to display the product and the multivariable score; and updating the graphical user interface to show changes to the multivariable score of the product on a scale relative to a life of the product.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the graphical user interface illustrates changes in the multivariable score over a specified period time.
6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein products are classified as climbers or decliners based on the magnitude and direction of the change associated with the product's multivariable score.
7 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the graphical user interface includes a comparison chart that provides a visual graph of the differences between multivariable scores for a number of products over a number of time periods.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the number of products is four.
9 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the chart includes trend lines that illustrate the variability of each product's multivariable score over the number of time periods.
10 . A computerized system that generates a user interface for popular products, the computerized system having a processor that executes the following:
a user interface component that receives multivariable scores for products and formats the multivariable scores in an ordered list; wherein the format is one of HTML, XML, or RSS; and a presentation component receives the formatted lists, wherein the HTML format of the ordered list is received in response to a request for the current list of popular items, the XML format of the list is received to periodically update a number or products in a dynamic section of web site that is dedicated to showing the number products having the largest scores, and the RSS format of the list is received to periodically update a feed that is accessed to determine, among other things, the popular products in a product database without requiring repeated requests for the list.
11 . The computerized system of claim 10 , wherein the score is based on normalized counts logged by the plurality of data sources.
12 . The computerized system of claim 11 , wherein the counts include number of page views, number of clicks, amount of revenue, number of entries in a search log.
13 . The computerized system of claim 11 , wherein the counts include offline store transaction data.
14 . The computerized system of claim 11 , wherein the counts include number of sales generates, number of seconds a user dwells on a product displayed on the computer.
15 . The computerized system of claim 10 , wherein the ordered list is organized based on decreasing product scores.
16 . The computerized system of claim 10 , wherein the user interface illustrates changes in the products' multivariable scores over a specified period time.
17 . The computerized system of claim 16 , wherein products are classified as climbers or decliners based on the magnitude and direction of the change associated with the products' multivariable scores.
18 . The computerized system of claim 16 , wherein the user interface includes a comparison chart that provides a visual graph of the differences between multivariable scores for a number of products over a number of time periods.
19 . The computerized system of claim 18 , wherein the number of products is four.
