Abstract
Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to a baseball swing training device, and more particularly to a heavily-weighted training bat for promoting a proper and powerful baseball swing. The swing training device includes an elongated body portion, a handle cap connected to a proximal portion of the body portion, a grip, and an end cap connected to a distal end of the body portion. The weight of the end cap is equal to or greater than a substantial percentage of the weight of the body portion.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A swing training device comprising:
a body portion having a length, a diameter and a body weight; a handle cap connected to a proximal end of the body portion; and an end cap connected to a distal end of the body portion and having an end cap weight, wherein the end cap weight is greater than 10% of the body weight.
2 . The swing training device of claim 1 wherein the end cap weight is greater than 15% of the body weight.
3 . The swing training device of claim 1 wherein the end cap weight is greater than 20% of the body weight.
4 . The swing training device of claim 1 wherein the body portion comprises a 1020 DOM SRA pipe.
5 . The swing training device of claim 4 wherein the length of the body portion is approximately 26 inches to approximately 36 inches.
6 . The swing training device of claim 4 wherein the outer diameter of the body portion is approximately 0.813 inches to approximately 1.063 inches.
7 . The swing training device of claim 4 wherein the combined weight of the body portion, the handle cap, and the end cap is approximately 2 lbs, 6 oz. to 3 lbs., 14 oz.
8 . The swing training device of claim 1 wherein the body portion comprises a schedule 40 steel pipe.
9 . The swing training device of claim 1 wherein the body portion comprises a schedule 80 steel pipe.
10 . The swing training device of claim 1 wherein the length of the body portion is approximately 28 inches to approximately 35 inches.
11 . The swing training device of claim 6 wherein the diameter of the body portion is approximately 0.5 inches to approximately 0.75 inches.
12 . The swing training device of claim 1 wherein the combined weight of the body portion, the handle cap, and the end cap is approximately 2 lbs, 8 oz. to 3 lbs., 11 oz.
13 . The swing training device of claim 1 further comprising a grip covering part of the length of the body portion adjacent to the handle cap.
14 . The swing training device of claim 1 wherein the body portion, the handle cap, and the end cap are coated with a powder coating.
15 . The swing training device of claim 1 wherein distal end of the body portion is threaded and the end cap includes female threads to receive the distal end of the body portion.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
