Abstract

An organizational system including an outer bag body and a rigid storage basket configured to fit within the outer bag body. The outer bag body may be styled as a conventional purse, etc. The storage basket preferably includes multiple individual storage compartments arranged adjacent one another with a respective open end of each storage compartment arranged adjacent one another so that all individual storage compartments are readily accessible from an opening at the top of the purse/bag when the basket is positioned within the bag body. Optionally, the storage basket is readily removable from the purse so that it may be placed on a kitchen countertop, etc. to provide organization to the basket's contents without the need for any support from a bag body. Optionally, the organizational system includes one or more interchangeable bag bodies configured to fit the same storage basket.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A woman's purse comprising:
a bag body having a closed lower end and an open upper end, said bag body defining an interior space accessible via said open end, said bag body being constructed of a flexible material; a shoulder strap attached to an upper portion of said bag body, said shoulder strap causing said bag body to hang in an upright position with said open upper end above said closed lower end; a rigid, self-supporting storage basket, said storage basket being positioned within the interior space and fixedly attached to said flexible material of said bag body to provide a unitary body, said rigid storage basket having rigid fixedly interconnected walls cooperating to define a plurality of individual storage compartments of fixed size disposed adjacent one another in a substantially planar array comprising at least two storage compartments in each of two orthogonal directions, each of said plurality of individual storage compartments having a respective open end manually accessible via said open upper end of said bag body when said bag body and basket are carried in the upright position by said shoulder strap.

2 . The woman's purse of claim 1 , wherein said storage basket is formed as a rigid unitary body.

3 . The woman's purse of claim 1 , wherein said flexible material is selected from the group consisting of leather, cotton, polyester and nylon.

4 . The woman's purse of claim 1 , wherein at least two of said plurality of individual storage compartments are identical in size and shape.

5 . The woman's purse of claim 4 , wherein all of said plurality of individual storage compartments are identical in size and shape.

         6 . The woman's purse of claim 1 , further comprising:
a plurality of removable liners, each of said plurality of removable liners being dimensioned to be removably received within a respective one of said plurality of individual storage compartments, each of said plurality of removable liners having a closed lower end for nesting with the closed lower end of a respective one of said plurality of individual storage compartments, and an open upper end positionable adjacent the open upper end of the respective one of said plurality of individual storage compartments.

7 . The woman's purse of claim 1 , wherein each of said plurality of individual storage compartments defines a volume substantially parallelepiped in shape.

         8 . A woman's purse comprising:
a bag body having a closed lower end and an open upper end, said bag body defining an interior space accessible via said open end, said bag body being constructed of a flexible material; a shoulder strap attached to an upper portion of said bag body, said shoulder strap causing said bag body to hang in an upright position with said open upper end above said closed lower end; a rigid, self-supporting storage basket formed as a rigid unitary body, said storage basket being positioned within the interior space and fixedly attached to said flexible material of said bag body, said rigid storage basket having rigid fixedly interconnected walls cooperating to define a plurality of individual storage compartments of fixed size disposed adjacent one another in a substantially planar array comprising at least two storage compartments in each of two orthogonal directions, each of said plurality of individual storage compartments defining a volume substantially parallelepiped in shape, at least two of said plurality of individual storage compartments being identical in size and shape, each of said plurality of individual storage compartments having a respective open end manually accessible via said open upper end of said bag body when said bag body and basket are carried in the upright position by said shoulder strap.

9 . The woman's purse of claim 8 , wherein said flexible material is selected from the group consisting of leather, cotton, polyester and nylon.

         10 . The woman's purse of claim 8 , further comprising:
a plurality of removable liners, each of said plurality of removable liners being dimensioned to be removably received within a respective one of said plurality of individual storage compartments, each of said plurality of removable liners having a closed lower end for nesting with the closed lower end of a respective one of said plurality of individual storage compartments, and an open upper end positionable adjacent the open upper end of the respective one of said plurality of individual storage compartments.

11 . The woman's purse of claim 8 , wherein all of said plurality of individual storage compartments are identical in size and shape.
