Abstract

The present invention is directed to peptides, antibodies and antibody fragments inhibiting activity of “Melanoma Inhibitory Activity” (MIA).

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 16 . (canceled)

17 . An isolated peptide consisting of the amino acid SEQ ID NO: 46 modified by of glycosylation, acetylation, hydroxylation, carboxylation, phosphorylation, alkylation, myristoylation, palmitoylation, or prenylation, wherein the peptide specifically binds a MIA polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 58.

18 . An isolated peptide consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 46 having a modified natural amino acid, wherein the natural amino acid is modified by a substitution of one or more atoms with a functional group comprising 1 to 12 atoms selected from C, H, N, S, O, P, F, Cl, Br, I, and Se, and wherein the peptide specifically binds a MIA polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 58.

19 . An isolated peptide consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 46 but for the substitution of one amino acid by a natural or non-natural amino acid, wherein the peptide specifically binds a MIA polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 58.

20 . An isolated peptide of claim 19 , wherein the substitution is by a non-natural amino acid selected from the group consisting of trans-3-methylproline, 2,4-methanoproline, cis-4-hydroxyproline, trans-4-hydroxyproline, N-methylglycine, allothreonine, methylthreonine, hydroxyethylcysteine, hydroxyethylhomocysteine, nitroglutamine, homoglutamine, pipecolic acid, tert-leucine, norvaline, 2-azaphenylalanine, 3-azaphenylalanine, 4-azaphenylalanine, and 4-fluorophenylalanine.

21 . An isolated peptide consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 46 but for the addition of one amino acid at either end, wherein the peptide specifically binds a MIA polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 58.

22 . An isolated peptide consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 46 but for the deletion of one amino acid, wherein the peptide specifically binds a MIA polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 58.

23 . A composition comprising the peptide according to claim 17 in combination with an acceptable biodegradable polymer.

24 . A composition comprising the peptide according to claim 18 in combination with an acceptable biodegradable polymer.

25 . A composition comprising the peptide according to claim 19 in combination with an acceptable biodegradable polymer.

26 . A composition comprising the peptide according to claim 20 in combination with an acceptable biodegradable polymer.

27 . A composition comprising the peptide according to claim 21 in combination with an acceptable biodegradable polymer.

28 . A composition comprising the peptide according to claim 22 in combination with an acceptable biodegradable polymer.
