Abstract

A device and assembly of devices for repetitively practicing a billiard shot including a body with a cavity and adhesive material applied to a lower surface of the body for selectively securing the body to the surface of the billiard table for flat placement thereon, the cavity has a dimension that is slightly greater than an outer diameter of a billiard ball, wherein the body has a substantially minute thickness for providing no more than a minimal impact to a travel of the billiard ball over the body and across the surface of the billiard table after the body is placed about the billiard ball and selectively secured on the billiard table surface with the adhesive material.

1 . A device for repetitively practicing a billiard shot comprising:
 a body having an upper planar surface, a lower planar surface for flat placement on a surface of a billiard table, the lower surface being substantially parallel to the upper surface, wherein the lower planar surface and upper planar surface being defined between the inner and outer diameters, an outer edge defining an outer diameter and a cavity defining an inner edge having an inner diameter, and an adhesive material applied to the lower surface of the body, the adhesive material selectively securing the body to the surface of the billiard table for flat placement thereon,   wherein the cavity being is defined by an upper opening defined by the inner diameter at the upper planar surface and a lower opening defined by the inner diameter at the lower planar surface wherein the inner diameter of the cavity is slightly greater than an outer diameter of a billiard ball and the inner edge of the cavity is defined continuously by the inner diameter from the upper opening to the lower opening,   the body having a thickness between the upper planar surface and the lower planar surface that is substantially minute wherein the body has a substantially planar profile defined between the upper planar surface and the lower planar surface and the substantially minute thickness of the body provides no more than a minimal impact to a travel of the billiard ball over the upper planar surface of the body and across the surface of the billiard table after the body is placed about the billiard ball and selectively secured in a flat position on the billiard table surface with the adhesive material.   
     
     
         2 . The device of  claim 1  wherein the body is composed of at least one of paper, plastic, composite, and cloth. 
     
     
         3 . The device of  claim 1  wherein the body forms a contiguous circle surrounding a circular cavity when selectively secured in a flat position on the billiard table surface. 
     
     
         4 . The device of  claim 1  wherein the body forms a substantially circular C-shaped upper and lower surface having an unobstructed gap about the outer edge and the inner edge. 
     
     
         5 . The device of  claim 1  wherein the upper surface includes at least one printed indicia separately identifying a particular one billiard ball from among the plurality of billiard balls making up a set of billiard balls. 
     
     
         6 . The device of  claim 5  wherein the printed indicia is selected from the group consisting of a color of the particular billiard ball, a number of the billiard ball, and a pattern of the billiard ball. 
     
     
         7 . The device of  claim 1  wherein the adhesive material is a residue free adhesive material and is applied to the entire lower surface of the body. 
     
     
         8 . The device of  claim 1  wherein the inside diameter is about 2 and ⅜ inches and the outer diameter is about 2 and ⅝ inches. 
     
     
         9 . The device of  claim 1  wherein there are a plurality of bodies, each of the bodies including a different printed indicia on the upper surface identifying a different billiard ball from among a set of billiard balls. 
     
     
         10 . The device of  claim 9  wherein the adhesive material is a residue free adhesive material. 
     
     
         11 . The device of  claim 10  wherein the plurality of bodies are assembled together in a stack of bodies, wherein the adhesive material of one body is selectively affixed to the upper surface of an adjacent body, and wherein the adhesive material is a non-permanent, temporary and easily detached adhesive and each body in the stack is positioned for removal of each body from the stack one at a time. 
     
     
         12 . An assembly for repetitively practicing a billiard shot comprising:
 a plurality of bodies each having an upper planar surface, a lower planar surface for flat placement on a surface of a billiard table, the lower surface being substantially parallel to the upper surface, an outer edge defining an outer diameter and a cavity defining an inner edge having an inner diameter, wherein the inner diameter is slightly greater than an outer diameter of a billiard ball and wherein the lower and upper surfaces are defined between the inner and outer diameters, the cavity being defined by an upper opening defined by the inner diameter at the upper planar surface and a lower opening defined by the inner diameter at the lower planar surface and wherein the inner edge of the cavity is defined continuously by the inner diameter from the upper opening to the lower opening, an adhesive material applied to the lower surface of the body, the adhesive material selectively securing the body to the surface of the billiard table for flat placement thereon, the body having a thickness between the upper planar surface and the lower planar surface that is substantially minute wherein the body has a substantially planar profile defined between the upper planar surface and the lower planar surface and the thickness of the body provides no more than a minimal impact to a travel of the billiard ball over the upper planar surface of the body and across the surface of the billiard table after the body is placed about the billiard ball and selectively secured in a flat position on the billiard table surface with the adhesive material, and wherein each one of said plurality of bodies includes different printed indicia on the upper surface separately identifying each particular billiard ball within a set of billiard balls.   
     
     
         13 . The assembly of  claim 12  wherein each body is composed of at least one of paper, plastic, composite, and cloth. 
     
     
         14 . The assembly of  claim 12  wherein the body forms a contiguous circle surrounding a circular cavity when selectively secured in a flat position on the billiard table surface. 
     
     
         15 . The assembly of  claim 12  wherein the body forms a substantially circular C-shaped upper and lower surface having an unobstructed gap about the outer edge and the inner edge. 
     
     
         16 . The assembly of  claim 12  wherein the printed indicia is selected from the group consisting of a color of the particular billiard ball, a number of the billiard ball, and a pattern of the billiard ball. 
     
     
         17 . The assembly of  claim 12  wherein the adhesive material is a residue-free adhesive material and is applied to the entire lower surface of the body. 
     
     
         18 . The assembly of  claim 12  wherein the inside diameter is about 2 and ⅜ inches and the outer diameter is about 2 and ⅝ inches. 
     
     
         19 . The assembly of  claim 12  wherein the plurality of bodies are assembled together in a stack of bodies, wherein the adhesive material of one body is selectively affixed to the upper surface of an adjacent body within the stack of bodies, and wherein the adhesive material is a non-permanent, temporary and easily detached adhesive and each body in the stack is positioned for removal of each body from the stack one at a time by a user thereof. 
     
     
         20 . An assembly for repetitively practicing a billiard shot comprising:
 means for defining a position of each particular one billiard ball of a set of billiard balls on the billiard table surface, said means for defining a position provides no more than a minimal impact to a travel of a billiard ball across the billiard table surface;   means for selectively securing to a felt surface of the billiard table surface each means for defining the position; and   means for separately identifying each of the means for defining with a particular one of the billiard ball within the set of billiard balls.
