Apparatus and System for Recording and Managing Pool Matches, Leagues, and Tournaments

Abstract

The present invention is an apparatus and system that allows users to store, retrieve, and compare results from one or more pool matches, leagues, or tournaments. The apparatus and system comprise a digital jukebox, comprised of at least one touchscreen display, that allows for information inputted into the jukebox to be transmitted to a database management system. The jukebox preferably comprises a means for collecting money from pool league/tournament participants. Participants may identify themselves and access their unique user profile by using the touchscreen. Once identified, users upload pool match, league, or tournament results through the jukebox to a database management system. The results are then stored by the database management system, and users can then remotely access the database management system to perform tasks such as reviewing the results, comparing player statistics, and tracking league and tournament standings.

1 . A digital jukebox apparatus for accurately and efficiently recording and managing the results of a pool match, league, and/or tournament, comprising:
 (a) at least one (1) electronic touchscreen;   (b) at least one (1) internal central processing unit, said central processing unit being programmed to allow a user to identify himself or herself using said touchscreen and enter the results of a pool match, league, and/or tournament;   (c) at least one (1) electronic database capable of storing user profiles, dues/fees information, and match results;   (d) an electronic communications means; and   (e) at least one (1) database management system.   
     
     
         2 . The jukebox apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein said jukebox apparatus comprises two (2) electronic touchscreens. 
     
     
         3 . The jukebox apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein said jukebox apparatus comprises two (2) central processing units. 
     
     
         4 . The jukebox apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein said electronic communications means comprises Ethernet jacks and cables. 
     
     
         5 . The jukebox apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein said database management system is installed and executed on a remote computer server. 
     
     
         6 . The jukebox apparatus of  claim 1 , further comprising a means for collecting money from a user of said jukebox apparatus. 
     
     
         7 . The jukebox apparatus of  claim 6 , wherein said money-collecting means comprises a bill acceptor. 
     
     
         8 . The jukebox apparatus of  claim 7 , wherein said money-collecting means further comprises a coin slot. 
     
     
         9 . The jukebox apparatus of  claim 6 , wherein said money-collecting means comprises a magnetic card reader. 
     
     
         10 . A system for accurately and efficiently recording and managing pool matches, leagues, and tournaments, comprising:
 (a) a digital jukebox comprising at least one (1) electronic touchscreen and at least one (1) central processing unit;   (b) at least one (1) electronic database capable of storing user profiles, dues/fees information, and match results;   (c) a database management system; and   (d) a electronic communication means for communicating electronic information.   
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein the digital jukebox comprises two (2) electronic touchscreens. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein the digital jukebox comprises two (2) central processing units. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said electronic communications means comprises Ethernet jacks and cables. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 10 , further including a means for collecting money from a user of said digital jukebox. 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein said money-collecting means comprises a bill acceptor. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein said money-collecting means further comprises a coin slot. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein said money-collecting means comprises a magnetic card reader. 
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 10 , further including a user interface wherein said match results stored in said electronic database are communicated to users via said network-communication means.
