Multi-Purpose Child's Toy

Abstract

A child's toy comprises a, preferably soft, head portion, a foldable body portion attached to the head portion, and at least one fastener for releasably retaining the body portion in its folded condition. The head portion includes at least one facial feature, and the body portion when folded provides a muff with opposing side openings for hands insertion in for example cold weather. When unfolded, the body portion presents at least one of a pliantly flexible plastics changing mat element on one major surface and a pliantly flexible play mat element on the opposite major surface. The play mat element includes at least one play element for a child to interact with.

         21 . A child's toy comprising a head portion, a foldable body portion attached to the head portion, and at least one fastener which releasably retains the body portion in its folded condition, the head portion including at least one facial feature, and the body portion when folded providing a muff with opposing side openings for hands insertion, and when unfolded presenting at least one of a pliantly flexible plastics changing mat element on one major surface and a pliantly flexible play mat element on the opposite major surface, the play mat element including at least one play element for a child to interact with. 
     
     
         22 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein the head portion is attached at one edge of the changing mat element of the body portion. 
     
     
         23 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 22 , wherein the head portion is attached midway along the said edge of the changing mat element. 
     
     
         24 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 21 , further comprising arm members which are spaced from the head portion. 
     
     
         25 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 24 , wherein the arm members are attached to the body portion so that they extend from opposite sides when the body portion is in a folded and fastened condition and are spaced inwardly from a perimeter edge when the body portion is in an unfolded condition. 
     
     
         26 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 21 , further comprising leg members which are spaced from the head portion. 
     
     
         27 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 26 , wherein the leg members are attached to the body portion so that they depend from a lower side when the body portion is in a folded and fastened condition and are spaced inwardly from a perimeter edge when the body portion is in an unfolded condition. 
     
     
         28 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein a plurality of said play elements is provided. 
     
     
         29 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 28 , wherein the play elements are spaced from each other. 
     
     
         30 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein the body portion, when unfolded, is substantially square. 
     
     
         31 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein the unfolded body portion is foldable into thirds, and then rollable in thirds to present the first said play element on the front outer surface of the body portion when in its folded and fastened condition. 
     
     
         32 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein, when the body portion is in its folded and fastened condition, the first said play element is on the front outer surface of the body portion. 
     
     
         33 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein the first said play element is provided centrally on the play mat element. 
     
     
         34 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein the fastener includes at least one button and a corresponding eye, the button being provided on the play mat element and the eye being on or adjacent to the head portion. 
     
     
         35 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 34 , wherein the said at least one button is provided on the first said play element. 
     
     
         36 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 21 , formed from recycled materials. 
     
     
         37 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein the head portion includes a plurality of facial features. 
     
     
         38 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 37 , wherein the facial features include eyes, ears, nose and/or mouth. 
     
     
         39 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein the toy, when in a folded condition, conveys the impression of an animal, human or alien. 
     
     
         40 . A child's toy as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein, when folded, the muff presents a soft fabric through-aperture which interconnects the side openings for receiving the hands.
