Abstract

A system for generation of accounts payable processing system tax rules is provided. A tax account system generates an account for a tax jurisdiction. An over-tax rule system generates one or more rules for processing a tax amount in excess of a required tax amount associated with the tax jurisdiction. An under-tax rule system generates one or more rules for processing a tax amount that is less than the required tax amount associated with the tax jurisdiction.

         19 . A system for generation of accounts payable processing system tax rules comprising:
 a tax account system operating on a processor and configured to generate an account for a tax jurisdiction;   an over-tax rule system operating on the processor and configured to allow a user to select one or more rules for scheduling a payment of an invoiced tax amount to a billing party that is in excess of a required tax amount associated with the tax jurisdiction; and   an under-tax rule system operating on the processor and configured to allow the user to select one or more rules for scheduling a payment of an invoiced tax amount to the billing party that is less than the required tax amount associated with the tax jurisdiction.   
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 19  further comprising a zero tax system operating on the processor and configured to allow the user to select one or more rules for scheduling no payment to the billing party of an invoiced tax amount associated with the tax jurisdiction. 
     
     
         21 . The system of  claim 19  further comprising a calculation level system operating on the processor and configured to allow the user to select one or more rules for scheduling a payment of an invoiced tax amount to the billing party based on a line level or transaction level of detail for the tax jurisdiction. 
     
     
         22 . The system of  claim 19  further comprising a short pay overcharge system operating on the processor and configured to allow the user to select one or more rules for short paying overcharged invoiced taxes to the billing party for the tax jurisdiction. 
     
     
         23 . The system of  claim 19  further comprising a self accrue system operating on the processor and configured to allow the user to select one or more rules for self accruing invoiced taxes for the tax jurisdiction. 
     
     
         24 . The system of  claim 19  further comprising a notification system operating on the processor and configured to allow the user to generating notification for approval from one or more users to override an invoice processing rule for a tax amount for the tax jurisdiction. 
     
     
         25 . A method for processing accounts payables comprising:
 selecting a tax jurisdiction for each of a plurality of invoice items using a user interface of a processor;   selecting, with the user interface of the processor, an over-tax rule for scheduling payment of an invoiced tax amount in excess of the invoiced tax amount for one of the invoice items as a function of the tax jurisdiction; and   selecting, with the user interface of the processor, an under-tax rule for scheduling payment of an invoiced tax amount that is less than the invoiced tax amount for one of the invoice items as a function of the tax jurisdiction.   
     
     
         26 . The method of  claim 25  further comprising selecting, with the user interface of the processor, a zero tax rule for paying no taxes for an invoiced tax amount associated with one of the invoice items as a function of the tax jurisdiction. 
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 25  further comprising selecting, with the user interface of the processor, a calculation level rules for paying an invoiced tax amount as a function of a line level or transaction level of detail as a function of the tax jurisdiction. 
     
     
         28 . The method of  claim 25  further comprising selecting, with the user interface of the processor, a short pay overcharge rule for short paying an overcharged invoiced tax amount associated with one of the line items as a function of the tax jurisdiction. 
     
     
         29 . The method of  claim 25  further comprising selecting, with the user interface of the processor, a self accrue rule for self accruing an invoiced tax amount associated with one of the line items as a function of the associated tax jurisdiction. 
     
     
         30 . The method of  claim 25  further executing a notification rule for generating notification to one or more users for approval to override an invoice processing rule for a tax amount for the tax jurisdiction. 
     
     
         31 . A system for generation of accounts payable processing system tax rules comprising:
 means for generating an account for a tax jurisdiction;   means for selecting one or more rules for paying a tax amount in excess of an invoiced tax amount as a function of the tax jurisdiction; and   means for selecting one or more rules for paying a tax amount that is less than the invoiced tax amount as a function of the tax jurisdiction.   
     
     
         32 . The system of  claim 31  further comprising means for selecting one or more rules for paying an invoiced tax amount as a function of the tax jurisdiction. 
     
     
         33 . The system of  claim 31  further comprising means for selecting one or more rules for paying an invoiced tax amount on a line level or transaction level of detail as a function of the tax jurisdiction.
