Chair canopy system
Abstract
Chair canopy system is a universal device that preferably attaches to the back of a manual or electric wheelchair, scooter, or chair. The device may be operated by manual means or electrically. This product allows the operator to handle daily activities and responsibilities while being protected from the elements. Disabled individuals will appreciate the protection from rain, snow, sun, and wind while running errands or attending recreational outdoor events. The portable shelter connects to the vehicle and is then pulled up and over to substantially ensure coverage of the operator. This product can be used to protect individuals from various kinds of weather and can also provide a barrier between the individual and airborne allergens and pollutants.

an arm assembly including;
at least one clamp;
at least one arm; and
at least one rotator; and
a canopy cover; wherein said arm assembly is attachable to a chair via said clamp(s); wherein said arm connects said clamp to said rotator forming said arm assembly; wherein said arm assembly supports said canopy cover in relation to said chair; wherein said arm assembly is rotatable in relation to said chair via said rotator(s); and wherein said canopy cover of said chair canopy system is suitable to shield an occupant of said chair from environmental conditions in an in-use condition when desired, and said canopy cover is able to be rotated to a stored condition when not in said in-use condition.
2 . The chair canopy system of claim 1 wherein said canopy cover comprises accordion-style pleats.
3 . The chair canopy system of claim 2 wherein said canopy cover comprises a front windshield.
4 . The chair canopy system of claim 3 wherein said canopy cover further comprises at least one left side window and comprises at least one right side window.

The chair canopy system of claim 4 wherein said canopy cover comprises at least one left side window and said comprises at least one right side window are foldable, said comprises at least one left side window and said comprises at least one right side window inset in said accordion-style pleats.
6 . The chair canopy system of claim 5 wherein said chair canopy system comprises five clear-windows, said clear-windows comprising said at least one left side window and said comprises at least one right side window and said front windshield.
7 . The chair canopy system of claim 1 wherein said clear-windows comprise vinyl.
8 . The chair canopy system of claim 1 wherein said chair comprises a scooter.
9 . The chair canopy system of claim 1 wherein said chair comprises a wheelchair.
10 . The chair canopy system of claim 1 wherein said arm(s) are telescopic to accommodate different heights of said occupant.
11 . The chair canopy system of claim 1 wherein canopy cover comprises canvas.
12 . The chair canopy system of claim 1 wherein canopy cover comprises nylon.
13 . The chair canopy system of claim 1 wherein said clamp is adjustable to fit on different sized bars on said chair(s).
14 . The chair canopy system of claim 1 wherein said in-use condition comprises a position wherein said canopy cover is located over said occupant.
15 . The chair canopy system of claim 14 wherein said in-use condition comprises a stance wherein said canopy cover provides that said occupant is able to look through said front windshield.
16 . The chair canopy system of claim 1 wherein said stored condition comprises a folded-position adjacent a back of said chair.

18 . A chair canopy system comprising:
an arm assembly including;
at least one clamp;
at least one arm; and
at least one rotator; and
a canopy cover; wherein said arm assembly is attachable to a chair via said clamp(s); wherein said clamp is adjustable to fit on different sized bars on a chair(s); wherein said arm connects said clamp to said rotator forming said arm assembly; wherein said arm(s) are telescopic to accommodate different heights of an occupant; wherein said rotators are lockable via tighteners; wherein said arm assembly supports said canopy cover in relation to said chair; wherein said chair comprises a wheelchair; wherein said arm assembly is rotatable in relation to said chair via said rotator(s); wherein said canopy cover comprises accordion-style pleats; wherein canopy cover comprises canvas; wherein canopy cover comprises a front windshield; wherein said canopy cover further comprises at least one left side window and comprises at least one right side window; wherein said canopy cover comprising said at least one left side window and said at least one right side window is foldable, said canopy cover comprising said at least one left side window and said at least one right side window inset in said accordion-style pleats; said chair canopy system comprises five clear-windows, said clear-windows comprising said at least one left side window, said at least one right side window and said front windshield; wherein said clear-windows comprise vinyl; wherein an in-use condition comprises a position wherein said canopy cover is located over said occupant; wherein said in-use condition comprises a stance wherein said canopy cover provides that said occupant is able to look through said front windshield; wherein said stored condition comprises a folded-position adjacent a back of said chair; and wherein said canopy cover of said chair canopy system is suitable to shield said occupant of said chair from environmental conditions in said in-use condition when desired, and said canopy cover is able to be rotated to said stored condition when not in said in-use condition.
19 . A method of using a chair canopy system comprising the steps of:
installing a chair canopy assembly onto a chair; adjusting said chair canopy assembly to a user-preferred position; and shielding an occupant of said chair from environmental elements.
