Abstract

Systems and methods for providing a discussion thread to key performance indicator information displayed on a dashboard are disclosed. The system may include a renderer for rendering a dashboard displaying a key performance indicator value corresponding to at least one business value. The system may also include a comment module that is configured to: receive a comment corresponding to the displayed key performance indicator value, and generate a discussion thread including the received comment. The generated dashboard can then be rendered by the renderer in association with the displayed key performance indicator value. In some cases, the discussion thread can include a plurality of related comments.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A system for providing a discussion thread to key performance indicator information displayed on a dashboard, the system comprising:
 a) a renderer for rendering a dashboard displaying a key performance indicator value corresponding to at least one business value; and b) a comment module configured to receive a comment corresponding to the displayed key performance indicator value, and generate a discussion thread comprising the comment; wherein the renderer is configured to render the discussion thread in association with the key performance indicator value.

2 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
 a) an intermediate table comprising intermediate data, wherein the intermediate data comprises:
 i) a plurality of intermediate values, wherein a selected intermediate value corresponds to the at least one business value, and
ii) a plurality of dimension categories, each dimension category corresponding to a unique group of at least one of the plurality of intermediate values, wherein a selected dimension category corresponds to the selected intermediate value.

3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the comment module is configured to associate the comment with the selected dimension category.

4 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the comment module is configured to associate the discussion thread with the selected dimension category.

5 . The system of claim 2 , further comprising
 a) a key performance indicator deriver configured to:
 i) determine the unique group of at least one intermediate value corresponding to the selected dimension category; and
ii) derive the displayed key performance indicator value from the unique group of at least one intermediate value.

6 . The system of claim 2 , further comprising a security module operatively coupled to the comment module, the security module configured to authenticate the comment.

7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein at least one dimension category is associated with an authentication level.

8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the discussion thread comprises a plurality of related comments.

9 . A dashboard comprising the rendered key performance indicator value and the corresponding discussion thread, generated by the system of claim 1 .

10 . A method for providing a discussion thread to key performance indicator information displayed on a dashboard, the method comprising:
 a) rendering a dashboard displaying a key performance indicator value corresponding to at least one business value; b) receiving a comment corresponding to the displayed key performance indicator value, and generating a discussion thread comprising the comment; and c) further rendering the discussion thread in association with the key performance indicator value.

11 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
 a) creating an intermediate table comprising intermediate data, wherein the intermediate data comprises:
 i) a plurality of intermediate values, wherein a selected intermediate value corresponds to the at least one business value, and
ii) a plurality of dimension categories, each dimension category corresponding to a unique group of at least one intermediate value, wherein a selected dimension category corresponds to the selected intermediate value.

12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising
 a) associating the comment with the selected dimension category.

13 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising
 a) associating the discussion thread with the selected dimension category.

14 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising
 a) determining the unique group of at least one intermediate value corresponding to the selected dimension category; and b) deriving the displayed key performance indicator value from the unique group of at least one intermediate value.

15 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising
 a) authenticating the comment.

16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein said authenticating comprises verifying the comment against an authentication level.

17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein at least one dimension category is associated with the authentication level.

18 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the discussion thread comprises a plurality of related comments.

19 . A dashboard comprising the rendered key performance indicator value and the corresponding discussion thread, generated by the method of claim 10 .
