Non-Credit Account Credit Rating
Abstract
A consumer's credit rating is derived from non-credit transactions on an account. Each transaction was a purchase by the consumer from a merchant using a pre-paid card. The derived consumer's credit rating can use a total of all of the transactions, totals for each merchant and/or for categories thereof. Here, the account is issued by an issuer to the consumer. Each merchant submits each non-credit transaction to an acquirer for processing by a transaction handler who requests the issuer to obtain payment for the transaction from the account. The issuer forwards the payment to the transaction handler who forwards the payment to the acquirer to pay the merchant for the purchase of the transaction. The derived credit rating can also consider prior credit ratings based upon prior credit transactions.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . Any computer implemented system deriving a credit rating of a consumer by using non-credit transaction data from a plurality of cashless transactions on an account of the consumer each of which was conducted by the consumer with a merchant for a purchase of a payment amount using a pre-paid reloadable card representing the account.
2 - 25 . (canceled)
26 . A non-credit account credit rating processor-implemented method, comprising:
processing, at a processor, each cashless non-credit transaction corresponding to a non-credit account of a consumer; and generating, at a processor, non-credit transaction data for each cashless non-credit transaction corresponding to the non-credit account; wherein the non-credit transaction data is utilized for deriving a credit rating for the consumer.
27 . The method of claim 26 , further comprising:
sending, from a processor, the non-credit transaction data to at least one Credit Bureau for the deriving of the credit rating for the consumer.
28 . The method of claim 26 , further comprising:
retrieving the determined credit rating associated with the consumer; and offering a consumer credit account on the basis of the received credit rating associated with the non-credit account.
29 . The method of claim 26 , further comprising:
retrieving the provided credit rating associated with the consumer; and offering a consumer loan on the basis of the provided credit rating associated with non-credit account.
30 . The method of claim 28 , further comprising:
conducting credit-based consumer transactions using the offered consumer credit account; and receiving an adjusted consumer credit rating based on the Credit Bureau processing both the non-credit transaction data corresponding to the non-credit account and the credit-based consumer transactions.
31 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the transaction data includes a Merchant Commodity Code (MCC) that is utilized for indicating that the consumer is consistent in making payments to a category of merchants associated with the Merchant Commodity Code.
32 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the cashless non-credit transaction is conducted by a reloadable pre-paid card.
33 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the non-credit account comprises at least one of a pre-paid account, a debit account, a deposit account, a flexible savings account, and a health savings account.
34 . A non-credit account credit rating processor-implemented method, comprising:
processing, at a processor, cashless non-credit transactions corresponding to multiple non-credit accounts of a consumer; and generating, at a processor, non-credit transaction data for the cashless non-credit transactions corresponding to each of the multiple non-credit accounts, wherein the non-credit transaction data generated from cashless non-credit transactions corresponding to the multiple non-credit accounts are utilized for deriving a credit rating for the consumer.
35 . The method of claim 34 , further comprising:
sending, from a processor, the non-credit transaction data to at least one Credit Bureau for the deriving of the credit rating for the consumer.
36 . The method of claim 34 , wherein the cashless non-credit transaction is conducted by a reloadable pre-paid card.
37 . A non-credit account credit rating processor-implemented method, comprising:
generating, at a processor, non-credit transaction data for each cashless non-credit transaction corresponding to a non-credit account of a consumer; and sending, from a processor, the non-credit transaction data to at least one Credit Bureau for determining a credit rating for the consumer, wherein the consumer receives an adjusted credit rating based on the Credit Bureau processing both the non-credit transaction data and credit-based transactions carried out by the consumer.
38 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the processing of the credit-based transactions is based on a history of credit-based transactions between the consumer and a merchant that is reported to the at least one Credit Bureau.
39 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the cashless non-credit transaction is conducted by a reloadable pre-paid card.
40 . A non-credit account credit rating system, comprising:
a memory; and a processor disposed in communication with the memory and configured to issue processing instructions stored in the memory to:
process each cashless non-credit transaction corresponding to a non-credit account of a consumer; and
generate non-credit transaction data for each cashless non-credit transaction corresponding to the non-credit account;
wherein the non-credit transaction data is utilized for deriving a credit rating for the consumer.
41 . A processor-readable tangible medium storing processor-issuable non-credit account credit rating instructions to:
process each cashless non-credit transaction corresponding to a non-credit account of a consumer; and generate non-credit transaction data for each cashless non-credit transaction corresponding to the non-credit account; wherein the non-credit transaction data is utilized for deriving a credit rating for the consumer.
42 . A non-credit account credit rating system, comprising:
a memory; and a processor disposed in communication with the memory and configured to issue processing instructions stored in the memory to:
process cashless non-credit transactions corresponding to multiple non-credit accounts of a consumer; and
generate non-credit transaction data for the cashless non-credit transactions corresponding to each of the multiple non-credit accounts,
wherein the non-credit transaction data generated from cashless non-credit transactions corresponding to the multiple non-credit accounts is utilized for deriving a credit rating for the consumer.
43 . A processor-readable tangible medium storing processor-issuable non-credit account credit rating instructions to:
process cashless non-credit transactions corresponding to multiple non-credit accounts of a consumer; and generate non-credit transaction data for the cashless non-credit transactions corresponding to each of the multiple non-credit accounts, wherein the non-credit transaction data generated from cashless non-credit transactions corresponding to the multiple non-credit accounts is utilized for deriving a credit rating for the consumer.
44 . A non-credit account credit rating system, comprising:
a memory; and a processor disposed in communication with the memory and configured to issue processing instructions stored in the memory to:
generate non-credit transaction data for each cashless non-credit transaction corresponding to a non-credit account of a consumer; and
send the non-credit transaction data to at least one Credit Bureau for determining a credit rating for the consumer,
wherein the consumer receives an adjusted credit rating based on the Credit Bureau processing both the non-credit transaction data and credit-based transactions carried out by the consumer.
45 . A processor-readable tangible medium storing processor-issuable non-credit account credit rating instructions to:
generate non-credit transaction data for each cashless non-credit transaction corresponding to a non-credit account of a consumer; and send the non-credit transaction data to at least one Credit Bureau for determining a credit rating for the consumer, wherein the consumer receives an adjusted credit rating based on the Credit Bureau processing both the non-credit transaction data and credit-based transactions carried out by the consumer.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
