Computer visualized drug interaction information retrieval
Abstract
Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for computer visualization of drugs for drug interaction information retrieval. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for computer visualization of drugs for drug interaction information retrieval can be provided. The method can include acquiring imagery of multiple different substances and detecting identifying content in each acquired image to determine an identity of each substance corresponding to each acquired image. The method also can include retrieving drug interaction data for each substance using the determined identity and correlating the drug interaction data for at least one of the substances with at least one other of the substances. Finally, the method can include displaying the correlated drug interaction data.

14 . A computer-implemented method, comprising:
acquiring imagery of an external characteristic of a physical body, respectively, for each of a plurality of different substances; determining an identity, from the acquired imagery and using a processor, for each of the plurality of different substances based upon the external characteristics; and retrieving drug interaction data for each of the multiple different substances using the determined identities, wherein the drug interaction data is between the identified plurality of different substances.
15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein
the imagery includes multiple images, respectively, for each of the plurality of different substances.
16 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising
marshalling each of the plurality of different substances for the multiple images.
17 . The method of claim 14 , wherein
the plurality of different substances are a plurality of different drugs.
18 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising
displaying the drug interaction data.

individual drug interaction data is displayed for each of the plurality of different substances.

the imagery is acquired using a camera.

the external characteristic is a pill marking

23 . A data processing hardware system, comprising:
a host computing platform comprising a processor, wherein the host computing platform is configured to perform:
acquiring imagery of an external characteristic of a physical body, respectively, for each of a plurality of different substances;
determining an identity, from the acquired imagery, for each of the plurality of different substances based upon the external characteristics; and
retrieving drug interaction data for each of the multiple different substances using the determined identities, wherein
the drug interaction data is between the identified plurality of different substances.
24 . The system of claim 23 , wherein
the imagery includes multiple images, respectively, for each of the plurality of different substances.
25 . The system of claim 23 , wherein
the plurality of different substances are a plurality of different drugs.
26 . The system of claim 23 , further comprising:
displaying the drug interaction data.

the imagery is acquired using a camera.

acquiring imagery of an external characteristic of a physical body, respectively, for each of a plurality of different substances; determining an identity, from the acquired imagery, for each of the plurality of different substances based upon the external characteristics; and retrieving drug interaction data for each of the multiple different substances using the determined identities, wherein the drug interaction data is between the identified plurality of different substances.
31 . The computer program product of claim 30 , wherein
the imagery includes multiple images, respectively, for each of the plurality of different substances.
32 . The computer program product of claim 31 , wherein the computer usable program code further causes the computer hardware system to perform
marshalling each of the plurality of different substances for the multiple images.

the plurality of different substances are a plurality of different drugs.

displaying the drug interaction data.
