Abstract

A content player includes a communication unit configured to communicate with a server for authentication of the content player. The content player further includes a storage unit configured to store streaming content data received by the communication unit when the authentication of the content player is completed successfully. The content player further includes a reproducing unit configured to reproduce the stored streaming content data. The content player also includes a control unit configured to control the storage unit not to delete the stored streaming content data, and allow the reproducing unit to reproduce the stored streaming content data under the situation that the communication unit does not communicate with a server.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A content player comprising:
 a communication unit configured to communicate with a server for authentication of the content player; a storage unit configured to store streaming content data received by the communication unit when the authentication of the content player is completed successfully; a reproducing unit configured to reproduce the stored streaming content data; and a control unit configured to
 control the storage unit not to delete the stored streaming content data, and
 allow the reproducing unit to reproduce the stored streaming content data under the situation that the communication unit does not communicate with a server.

         2 . The content player according to claim 1 , wherein the communication unit receives at least one of a title and an artist name.

         3 . The content player according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit controls:
 the communication unit to receive a XML (eXtensible Markup Language) or a HTML (Hyper Text Markup language) file about a plurality of streaming content data, a display unit to display information about the plurality of streaming content data, and the communication unit to send a request for send the streaming content data to the server in response to a user designation of the streaming content data.

         4 . The content player according to claim 1 , wherein the communication unit transmit a User ID and a corresponding password to the server during the authentication.

         5 . The content player according to claim 1 , wherein the content player is a mobile phone or a PDA (Personal Digital Assistance).

         6 . A content system comprising:
 a server storing at least authentication data for a content player; the content player including:
 a communication unit configured to communicate with the server for the authentication of the content player;
 a storage unit configured to store streaming content data received by the communication unit when the authentication of the content player is completed successfully;
 a reproducing unit configured to reproduce the stored streaming content data; and
 a control unit configured to
 control the storage unit to not delete the stored streaming content data, and
 allow the reproducing unit to reproduce the stored streaming content data under the situation that the communication unit does not communicate with a server.

         7 . The content system according to claim 6 , wherein the communication unit receives at least one of a title and an artist name.

         8 . The content system according to claim 6 , wherein the control unit controls:
 the communication unit to receive a XML (eXtensible Markup Language) or a HTML (Hyper Text Markup language) file about a plurality of streaming content data, a display unit to display information about the plurality of streaming content data, and the communication unit to send a request for send the streaming content data to the server in response to a user designation of the streaming content data.

         9 . The content system according to claim 6 , wherein the communication unit transmit a User ID and a corresponding password to the server during the authentication.

         10 . The content system according to claim 6 , wherein the content player is a mobile phone or a PDA (Personal Digital Assistance).

         11 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium having executable instructions stored therein, which when executed by a processor in a content player, causes the content player to:
 communicate, via a communication unit, with a server for authentication of the content player; store, in a storage unit, streaming content data received by the communication unit when the authentication of the content player is completed successfully; reproduce, via a reproducing unit, the stored streaming content data; control the storage unit to not delete the stored streaming content data; and allow the reproducing unit to reproduce the stored streaming content data under the situation that the communication unit does not communicate with a server.

         12 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium according to claim 11 , wherein the executable instructions further cause the content player to receive, via the communication unit, at least one of a title and an artist name.

         13 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium according to claim 11 , wherein the executable instructions further cause the content player to:
 receive, via the communication unit, a XML (eXtensible Markup Language) or a HTML (Hyper Text Markup language) file about a plurality of streaming content data, display, via a display unit, information about the plurality of streaming content data, and send, via the communication unit, a request for send the streaming content data to the server in response to a user designation of the streaming content data.

         14 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium according to claim 11 , wherein the executable instructions further cause the content player to transmit, via the communication unit, a User ID and a corresponding password to the server during the authentication.

         15 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium according to claim 11 , wherein the content player is a mobile phone or a PDA (Personal Digital Assistance).
