Abstract

Embodiments related to systems and methods comprising receiving payment data at an access device; receiving an identifier for a mobile device at the access device; and generating and sending an authorization request message to a payment processing network, wherein the payment processing network generates a verification token, which is then sent to the mobile device whereby the mobile device is thereafter used to conduct payment transactions.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method comprising:
receiving payment data at an access device; receiving an identifier for a mobile device at the access device; and generating and sending an authorization request message to a server computer, wherein the server computer generates a verification token, wherein the verification token is then sent to the mobile device and is stored in the mobile device, whereby the mobile device is thereafter used to conduct payment transactions.

2 . The method of claim 1 wherein the identifier for the mobile device and the payment data are stored and linked in a database coupled to the server computer.

3 . The method of claim 1 wherein the authorization request message is a first authorization request message, and wherein the method further comprises sending a second authorization request message comprising the verification token and a purchase price for a transaction to the server computer.

4 . The method of claim 1 wherein the verification token is static.

5 . The method of claim 1 wherein the verification token is dynamic.

6 . The method of claim 1 wherein the authorization request message comprises the identifier for the mobile device and the payment data.

7 . The method of claim 3 wherein the server computer is configured to analyze the second authorization request message and perform card present processing if the verification token is present and is configured to perform card not present processing if the verification token is not present.

8 . An access device comprising:
a processor; and a computer readable medium coupled to the processor, the computer readable medium comprising, code executable by the processor, for implementing a method comprising: receiving payment data; receiving an identifier for a mobile device; and generating and sending an authorization request message to a server computer, wherein the server computer generates a verification token, wherein the verification token is then sent to the mobile device and is stored in the mobile device, whereby the mobile device is thereafter used to conduct payment transactions.

9 . The access device of claim 8 further comprising a card reader coupled to the processor.

10 . The access device of claim 9 wherein the authorization request message comprises the identifier for the mobile device and the payment data.

11 . The access device of claim 9 wherein the authorization request message is a first authorization request message, and wherein the method further comprises sending a second authorization request message comprising the verification token and a purchase price for a transaction to the server computer.

12 . The access device of claim 11 wherein the server computer analyzes the second authorization request message and perform card present processing if the verification token is present and card not present processing if the verification token is not present.

13 . The access device of claim 11 wherein the second authorization request message further comprises a verification value, which was previously received by the mobile device.

         14 . A system comprising:
an access device comprising (a) a processor, and (b) a computer readable medium coupled to the processor, the computer readable medium comprising, code executable by the processor, for implementing a method comprising receiving payment data, receiving an identifier for a mobile device, and generating and sending an authorization request message to a server computer, wherein the server computer generates a verification token, wherein the verification token is then sent to the mobile device, whereby the mobile device is thereafter used to conduct payment transactions; and a mobile device configured to interact with the access device.

15 . The system of claim 14 wherein the mobile device comprise a contactless element.

16 . The system of claim 14 wherein the authorization request message is a first authorization request message, and wherein the method further comprises sending, by the access device, a second authorization request message comprising the verification token and a purchase price for the transaction.

17 . The system of claim 14 wherein the mobile device comprises a memory storing the verification token.

         18 . A method comprising:
electronically transmitting payment data to a server computer; electronically receiving, at a mobile device, a verification token from the server computer; and storing, in a memory on the mobile device, the verification token, whereby the mobile device is thereafter used to conduct payment transactions.

19 . The method of claim 18 further comprising electronically transmitting the verification token and a purchase price for a transaction to an access device, wherein the access device generates and sends an authorization request message to the server computer.

20 . The method of claim 19 wherein the server computer is configured to analyze the authorization request message and perform card present processing if the verification token is present and card not present processing if the verification token is not present.
