Mechanical vibrator having eccentric masses
Abstract
The mechanical vibrator is applied to vibrating screens or other equipment and comprises a bearing housing to be affixed to a side wall of the equipment, to carry a pair of bearings which support a shaft having an inner end portion and an outer end portion which respectively affix a first and a second counterweight. The first and the second counterweights have respective first and second eccentric masses of different values and which are positioned and dimensioned so that the first and the second counterweight generate equal loads on the bearings. The second counterweight is constructed to selectively and removably attach a third counterweight presenting a third eccentric mass maintained aligned with the center line of the bearing housing, to provide a variation of the total eccentric mass of the vibrator, without changing the balance of the load distribution on the bearings.

13 . A mechanical vibrator for vibrating screens or other equipment, comprising a bearing housing, a bearing supported in the bearing housing, a shaft supported by the bearing and counterweights having eccentric masses affixed to said shaft, wherein the bearing comprises a sliding bearing.
14 . A mechanical vibrator for vibrating screens or other equipment as defined in claim 13 , wherein the sliding bearing is defined by a bushing.
15 . A mechanical vibrator for vibrating screens or other equipment as defined in claim 13 , wherein a lubricating agent can be supplied to the bearing via an inner recess.
16 . A mechanical vibrator for vibrating screens or other equipment as defined in claim 14 , wherein the bearing housing retains two bushing bearings axially spaced from each other by means of a spacing ring.
17 . A mechanical vibrator for vibrating screens or other equipment as defined in claim 16 , wherein the two bushing bearings are positioned within the bearing housing such that their mutually adjacent edges are positioned in the region of the bearing housing where the inner recess is positioned.
18 . A mechanical vibrator for vibrating screens or other equipment as defined in claim 13 , wherein an inner bushing bearing comprises a peripheral end flange which is secured to the bearing housing.
19 . A mechanical vibrator for vibrating screens or other equipment as defined in claim 18 , wherein the peripheral end flange is secured to the bearing housing with bolts 15 .
20 . A mechanical vibrator for vibrating screens or other equipment as defined in claim 13 , wherein the shaft comprises a circumferential rib which abuts a thrust ring that is axially seated against an external end of bearing.
21 . A mechanical vibrator for vibrating screens or other equipment as defined in claim 13 , wherein a retaining means is provided on an external side of bearing housing, wherein said retaining means abuts an external end surface of an outer bushing bearing.
22 . A mechanical vibrator for vibrating screens or other equipment as defined in claim 21 , wherein said retaining means abuts an external end surface of shaft.
23 . Vibrating screening equipment, comprising a pair of mechanical vibrators according to any of claim 13 , wherein the bearing housing of said vibrators are each arranged to opposite side walls of the equipment.
