Abstract

A lacrosse head includes multiple components detachably connected to one another. The lacrosse head includes an upper frame and a lower frame or lower rail detachably connected to the upper frame. Netting that forms a ball-receiving pocket is attached to the lower rail. One or more shooting elements or “shooting strings,” which may be made of rubber, plastic, or a combination of both, or of other suitable materials, are optionally detachably connected to the lower rail.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A lacrosse head, comprising:
an upper frame; and a lower frame detachably connected to the upper frame, the lower frame including a plurality of netting attachment elements.

2 . The lacrosse head of claim 1 further comprising netting attached to the netting attachment elements to form a ball receiving pocket.

3 . The lacrosse head of claim 2 further comprising at least one shooting element removably attached to the lower frame.

4 . The lacrosse head of claim 3 wherein the shooting element comprises two components detachably connected to each other, with portions of the netting secured between the two components.

5 . The lacrosse head of claim 3 wherein three shooting elements are removably attached to the lower frame.

6 . The lacrosse head of claim 3 wherein the shooting element includes end connectors detachably engaged with the netting attachment elements.

7 . The lacrosse head of claim 3 wherein the shooting element comprises a flexible rubber material.

8 . The lacrosse head of claim 7 wherein the shooting element further comprises a plastic material reinforcing the flexible rubber material.

9 . The lacrosse head of claim 1 wherein the lower frame includes legs that pass through openings in a proximal end of the upper frame to secure the proximal end of the upper frame to the lower frame.

10 . The lacrosse head of claim 1 wherein the lower frame includes tabs that engage a distal end of the upper frame to secure the distal end of the upper frame to the lower frame.

11 . The lacrosse head of claim 1 wherein a proximal end of the upper frame includes a throat region configured to receive a lacrosse stick shaft.

         12 . A lacrosse head, comprising:
an upper frame; a lower frame detachably connected to the upper frame, the lower frame including a plurality of netting attachment elements; and at least one shooting element detachably engaged with the netting attachment elements.

13 . The lacrosse head of claim 12 further comprising netting attached to the netting attachment elements to form a ball receiving pocket.

14 . The lacrosse head of claim 13 wherein the shooting element comprises two components detachably connected to each other, with portions of the netting secured between the two components.

15 . The lacrosse head of claim 13 wherein the shooting element comprises at least one of a flexible rubber material and a plastic material.

16 . The lacrosse head of claim 13 wherein the lower frame includes legs that pass through openings in a proximal end of the upper frame to secure the proximal end of the upper frame to the lower frame.

17 . The lacrosse head of claim 13 wherein the lower frame includes tabs that engage a distal end of the upper frame to secure the distal end of the upper frame to the lower frame.

         18 . A lacrosse head, comprising:
an upper frame; a lower frame detachably connected to the upper frame, the lower frame including a plurality of netting attachment elements; netting attached to the netting attachment elements to form a ball receiving pocket; and at least one shooting element including end connectors detachably engaged with the netting attachment elements, wherein the shooting element further includes internal portions detachably engaged with the netting.

19 . The lacrosse head of claim 18 wherein the shooting element comprises two components detachably connected to each other, with portions of the netting secured between the two components.

20 . The lacrosse head of claim 18 wherein the lower frame includes legs that pass through openings in a proximal end of the upper frame to secure the proximal end of the upper frame to the lower frame, and wherein the lower frame further includes tabs that engage a distal end of the upper frame to secure the distal end of the upper frame to the lower frame.
