Commercial Transactions Card With Security Markings

Abstract

A card associated with an account for making commercial transactions includes security indicia indicating that the account is protected by at least one security measure for preventing unauthorized use of the account. For example, the security indicia can indicate that a commercial transaction using the account will be verified by an account-holder before the transaction will be approved. As another example, the security indicia can indicate that the account-holder will be notified of a commercial transaction. As still another example, the security indicia can indicate that the account can be selectively deactivated by the account-holder.

1 . A card associated with an account and for making commercial transactions, said card including:
 at least one indicia identifying said account; and   at least one security indicia indicating that said account is protected by at least one security feature for preventing unauthorized use of said account.   
     
     
         2 . A card according to  claim 1 , wherein said security indicia indicates that a commercial transaction made using said account will be verified by an account-holder associated with said account before said commercial transaction will be approved. 
     
     
         3 . A card according to  claim 1 , wherein said security indicia indicates that an account- holder associated with said account will be notified of a commercial transaction made using said account. 
     
     
         4 . A card according to  claim 1 , wherein said security indicia indicates that said account can be selectively deactivated by an account-holder associated with said account. 
     
     
         5 . A card according to  claim 1 , wherein said security indicia is located on the same side of said card as said indicia identifying said account. 
     
     
         6 . A card according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a first security indicia located on a first side of said card; and   a second security indicia located on a second side of said card opposite said first side.   
     
     
         7 . A card according to  claim 6 , wherein:
 one of said first security indicia and said second security indicia provides a generic description of said protection by said at least one security feature; and   the other of said first security indicia and said second security indicia provides a specific description of said protection by said at least one security feature.   
     
     
         8 . A card according to  claim 7 , wherein said generic description of said protection by said at least one security feature includes a logo. 
     
     
         9 . A card according to  claim 1 , wherein said card is associated with a credit account. 
     
     
         10 . A card according to  claim 1 , wherein said card is associated with a debit account. 
     
     
         11 . A card associated with an account and for making commercial transactions, said card including:
 at least one indicia identifying said account; and   means for indicating that said account is protected by at least one security feature for preventing unauthorized use of said account.
