Off-the-grid container shippable domicile
Abstract
An off-the-grid prefabricated structure that is configured to be shipped in a standard shipping container in collapsed state and then be assembled into an expanded state at its final destination. The prefabricated structure includes its own internal power and water sources. The power source may be a low voltage direct current power source that provides power to common appliances and fixtures that operate at low voltage. Additionally or alternatively, solar energy collection devices may be integrated into the prefabricated structure to supply the internal power source. The water source may be a liquid tight flexible bag that is stored within one or more access spaces in the prefabricated structure.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A prefabricated dwelling comprising:
a low voltage direct current electrical infrastructure to power appliances, the electrical infrastructure being confined to the prefabricated dwelling; a water distribution infrastructure including a bladder that is a source for the water distribution infrastructure of the prefabricated dwelling; an electrical power supply for the electrical infrastructure, the electrical power supply being internal to the prefabricated dwelling and supplying power to the electrical infrastructure; a composting system to compost waste generated by an occupant of the prefabricated dwelling; and a fuel distribution system including a bladder that is a source for the fuel distribution system.
2 . The prefabricated dwelling of claim 1 , further comprising:
a cooking range receiving fuel from the fuel distribution system; and a heater receiving fuel from the fuel distribution system.
3 . The prefabricated dwelling of claim 1 , wherein the appliances include:
a television; a microwave; a hot water heater; a satellite communications system; and a water pump.
4 . The prefabricated dwelling of claim 1 , wherein the electrical power supply comprises a solar energy conversion system.
5 . The prefabricated dwelling of claim 1 , wherein the electrical power supply comprises an energy source storage system.
6 . The prefabricated dwelling of claim 1 , wherein the electrical power supply comprises a solar energy conversion system and an energy storage system.
7 . The prefabricated dwelling of claim 1 , wherein the water distribution bladder and the fuel distribution bladder are located under a floor of the prefabricated dwelling.
8 . A habitable apparatus comprising:
a prefabricated structure that includes a plurality of prefabricated walls, prefabricated floors, appliances, and fixtures; a low voltage direct current (DC) electrical system powered by a power source that includes a plurality of energy storage systems located in the habitable apparatus; an arrangement of lighting fixtures powered by the low voltage DC electrical system; a fuel bladder for providing fuel to the appliances; and a potable water bladder to provide potable water to a bathroom and a kitchen in the interior habitable space, wherein the prefabricated structure has an expanded state and a collapsed state, the collapsed state permits the habitable apparatus to be placed inside a shipping container and the expanded state that provides an interior habitable space.
9 . The habitable apparatus of claim 8 , further comprising a non-potable water bladder to receive water from the bathroom or the kitchen, the non-potable water bladder, the potable water bladder, and the fuel blabber being located in a access space of the habitable apparatus.
10 . The habitable apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the access space is between a foundation for the habitable apparatus and the floor of the interior habitable space.
11 . The habitable apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the access space is located above the interior habitable space.
12 . The habitable apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the access space is located in or on a wall of the interior habitable space or an exterior wall of the habitable apparatus.
13 . The habitable apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the energy storage systems comprise twelve volt deep cycle batteries, fuel cells, capacitors, and/or thermal energy storage systems.
14 . The habitable apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the power source includes a solar power charging system.
15 . The habitable apparatus of claim 8 , further comprising:
a microwave that receives power from the electrical system; a water pump that receives power from the electrical system; a wireless transceiver that receives power from the electrical system; and a solar water heater that provides hot water to the kitchen and bathroom.
16 . The habitable apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a composting system.
17 . A prefabricated building comprising:
a low voltage direct current (DC) electrical infrastructure to power lights and electrical outlets, the electrical infrastructure being confined to the prefabricated building; an electrical power supply for the electrical infrastructure, the electrical power supply being internal to the prefabricated building and supplying power to the electrical infrastructure, the electrical infrastructure including twist-to-lock receptacles for a plurality electrical outlets.
18 . The prefabricated building of claim 17 , further comprising a computing device docking station.
19 . The prefabricated building of claim 18 , wherein the computing device docking station interfaces with a television and speakers that are integrated into the prefabricated building.
20 . The prefabricated building of claim 17 , further comprising a liquid tight bag that provides water to a water distribution system for the prefabricated building.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
