Abstract

A versatile bathrobe that contains modular detachable sections, namely the sleeve sections and the lower length section, allowing the wearer to detach and re-attach sections of the versatile bathrobe. The versatile functionality of this versatile bathrobe creates at least 4 different robes from the one versatile bathrobe . . . 1) full length robe, long sleeves, 2) full length robe, sleeveless, 3) shorter length robe, long sleeves, 4) shorter length robe, sleeveless. This versatile bathrobe is intended to provide robe wearers with more unencumbered freedom to perform tasks and empower robe wearers to regulate their body temperature without abandoning the comfort of their robe.

16 . The versatile bathrobe of claim 17 , wherein the lower length portion openable seam is selectively closed by a zipper.

17 . A versatile bathrobe comprised of modular removable sections, namely the sleeve sections and the lower length sections, can be detached, interchanged, left-right exchanged, replaced, attached, re-attached whereby:
the versatile bathrobe is comprised of a main body having a first shoulder portion, a second, opposing shoulder portion, a collar portion, a first arm opening, a second, opposing arm opening, a first sleeve that covers the first arm opening and extends downward therefrom, a second sleeve that covers the second arm opening and extends downward therefrom, each of the sleeves having a distal end; and an openable seam on first sleeve, selectively opened/closed by fasteners, on any section of first sleeve circling under or around the arm and stopping at the same point where the opening started allowing sleeve section to be detached, interchanged, left-right exchanged, replaced, re-attached; and an openable seam on second sleeve, selectively opened/closed by fasteners, on any section of second sleeve circling under or around the arm and stopping at the same point where the opening started allowing sleeve section to be detached, interchanged, left-right exchanged, replaced, re-attached; and an openable seam on the lower length portion, selectively opened/closed by fasteners, which travels the horizontal width of the bathrobe allowing lower section to be detached, interchanged, replaced, attached, re-attached; and wherein the left sleeve section can be mated with either the right side or left side of the garment body/section by means of corresponding fastener(s); and wherein the right sleeve section can be mated with either the right side or left side of the garment body/section by means of corresponding fastener(s); and wherein the term ‘modular’ is defined as a unit or subassembly designed with modules that are of standardized dimensions, intentional design or construction, architected mounting features and/or configurations that enable flexibility for detachable, interchangeable, left-right exchangeable, replaceable, and attachable use with existing and replacement modules of the same or similar type that are configured for mounting onto each other or onto to a main body/frame, and can be mounted onto either a right or left hand side exchangeably; and wherein left-right exchangeable, as one of the attributes of being modular, is defined as the ability to freely exchange or interchange left and right sections with each other or the like irrespective of left or right side of garment; and is executed on sleeve sections by (1) detaching the left sleeve section from left side of garment and with 180 degree horizontal flip, reattaching left sleeve section onto right side of garment via like mating fasteners and vise versa for right sleeve section exchange, or (2) attaching a left or right sleeve section, whether new, interchanged, or replacement section, freely onto either left or right side of garment body section via mating fastener; wherein the zipper fasteners of openable sleeve seam locations are architected so that the garment body/section can receive either left or right sleeve section exchangeably onto either left or right side of garment body/section whereas the direction of the zipper slider runs in opposing directions on opposite sides of the garment, further defined as the direction of the zipper slider on the left side of garment runs from front-to-back while the direction of the zipper slider on the right side of garment runs from back-to-front, or as in a vise versa the direction of the zipper slider on the right side of garment runs from front-to-back while the direction of the zipper slider on the left side of garment runs from back-to-front, and in both cases the zipper slider unit needs stay latched to either (1) the detached left and right sleeve sections or (2) to the main body of the garment on the left and right sides, and zipper type and length on both sides need to accommodate receiving either left or right sleeve; wherein the hook and loop fasteners of openable sleeve seam locations are architected so that the garment body/section can receive and fasten either left or right adjoining sleeve section exchangeably onto either left or right side of garment body/section, and are the same type, length, and size to accommodate receiving a corresponding sleeve section; wherein button fasteners of openable sleeve seam locations are symmetrically placed front-to-back and back-to-front along the openable seam and corresponding left or right sleeve section so that there is a match of button and buttonhole when accepting either left or right sleeve section exchangeably to ensure proper mating and that there are no unintentional gaps in seam or misalignment with overall seams and/or features of the garment as a whole; wherein snap fasteners of openable sleeve seam locations are symmetrically placed front-to-back and back-to-front along the openable seam and corresponding left or right sleeve section so that there is a match of snap male and female fastener components when accepting either left or right sleeve section exchangeably to ensure proper mating and that there are no unintentional gaps in seam or misalignment with overall seams and/or features of the garment as a whole; wherein laces fasteners of openable sleeve seam locations are symmetrically placed front-to-back and back-to-front along the openable seam and corresponding left or right sleeve section so that there is a match of lace string and lace hole when accepting either left or right sleeve section exchangeably to ensure proper mating and that there are no unintentional gaps in seam or misalignment with overall seams and/or features of the garment as a whole.
