Device, System and Method for Controlling and Storing Sensitive Information on a GPS Device
Abstract
A system and method for controlling and storing sensitive information on a global positioning system (GPS) device are provided. The system includes a locational information module for determining location information of the device; an encryption module for encrypting the location information; a processing module for storing the encrypted location information in a storage module; and an input module for inputting a code string for decrypting the location information. Information inputted to and/or generated by the device will be encrypted on the storage module. The storage module can be in any form currently available including optical media, or various types of removable memory cards or cartridges. Furthermore, the storage module may be internal memory and the GPS device may further include a transmission module or connection, e.g., hardwire or wireless, to port the information to a computer.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 22 . (canceled)
23 . A method of managing user location, the method comprising:
collecting location information of a mobile device using a global positioning system; receiving user input corresponding to the location information; storing the location information and the user input in a storage module in the mobile device wherein the storage module is capable of encrypting the location information and the user input; transmitting the location information and user input to a remote computer.
24 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the location information includes a destination address.
25 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the user input includes an activity associated with the destination address.
26 . The method of claim 24 , further comprising:
causing a map to be presented on a display by the remote computer; overlaying the destination address on the map by the remote computer.
27 . The method of claim 23 , further comprising:
receiving one or more locations associated with a mobile device and user input corresponding to the one or more locations; transmitting the one or more locations to the remote computer.
28 . The method of claim 27 , further comprising:
causing a map to be presented on a display by the remote computer; overlaying the one or more locations on the map by the remote computer to show a route over a time period.
29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the display can be selected from the group consisting of a display of the remote computer, a display of the mobile device, and a display of a local computer.
30 . The method of claim 23 , further comprising decrypting the location information and user input by the remote computer.
31 . A system of managing user location, the system comprising:
a mobile device having:
a computer processing module;
a storage module coupled to the computer processing module;
a location information module coupled to the storage module and the computer processing module;
a user input module coupled to the location information module, storage module, and the computer processing module;
a transmission module coupled to the location information module, storage module, user input module, and the computer processing module;
wherein the location information module collects location information of a mobile device using a global positioning system, the user input module receives user input corresponding to the location information, the storage module stores the location information and the user input, the storage module is capable of encrypting the location information and the user input, and the transmission module transmits the location information and user input over a communication network.
32 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the location information includes a destination address.
33 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the user input includes an activity associated with the destination address.
34 . The system of claim 33 , further comprising:
a remote computer having; a computer processor; a computer storage module coupled to the processor; wherein the computer processor: (i) receives location information and user input from the mobile device over the communication network; (ii) processes the location information and user input to cause a map to be presented on a display; and (iii) overlays the destination address on the map by the remote computer.
35 . The system of claim 33 , wherein the computer processor on the remote computer:
(i) receives one or more locations associated with a mobile device and user input corresponding to the one or more locations.
36 . The system of claim 33 , wherein the computer processor on the remote computer: (i) causes a map to be presented on a display; and (ii) overlays the one or more locations on the map to show a route over a time period.
37 . The system of claim 33 , wherein the computer processor on the remote computer decrypts the location information and user input.
38 . The system of claim 34 , wherein the display can be selected from the group consisting of a display of the remote computer, a display of the mobile device, and a display of a local computer.
39 . A device for managing user location, the device comprising:
a computer processor; a computer storage module coupled to the processor; wherein the computer processor: (i) receives location information and user input from the mobile device over the communication network; (ii) processes the location information and user input to cause a map to be presented on a display; and (iii) overlays the destination address on the map by the remote computer.
40 . The device of claim 39 , wherein the computer processor on the remote computer: receives one or more locations associated with a mobile device and user input corresponding to the one or more locations.
41 . The device of claim 39 , wherein the computer processor on the remote computer: (i) causes a map to be presented on a display; and (ii) overlays the one or more locations on the map to show a route over a time period.
42 . The device of claim 39 , wherein the display can be selected from the group consisting of a display of the remote computer, a display of the mobile device, and a display of a local computer.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
