Abstract
A rifle bedding block is a one-piece, unitary structure that incorporates an integral magazine aperture and an integral trigger guard. The unitary structure enhances rifle performance and makes the rifle more easily broken down and re-assembled when such is desired or required. An added advantage is that such a structure also eliminates any height differential relative to a magazine that is received within the integral magazine aperture and the height of the action.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A unitary rifle bedding block comprising:
an integrally-formed magazine aperture; and an integrally-formed trigger guard.
2 . The rifle bedding block of claim 1 wherein the bedding block further comprises a forward portion, a middle portion, a rearward portion, a top surface at the forward portion and a bottom surface.
3 . The rifle bedding block of claim 2 wherein the top surface of the forward portion of the bedding block is configured to support a float on it and the bottom surface is configured to rest adjacent a portion of the rifle stock.
4 . The rifle bedding block of claim 3 wherein the forward portion of the bedding block further comprises a substantially vertical aperture that extends fully through the forward portion from the top surface and the bottom surface to secure the bedding block and float to the rifle stock using a fastener.
5 . The rifle bedding block of claim 4 further comprising a top surface at the middle and rearward portions and a bottom surface at the middle and rearward portions.
6 . The rifle bedding block of claim 5 further comprising a substantially vertical second aperture for securing the action to the bedding block.
7 . The rifle bedding block of claim 6 wherein the magazine aperture is a generally vertically-oriented, centrally-disposed and rectangularly-shaped structure.
8 . The rifle bedding block of claim 7 wherein the magazine aperture extends through the middle portion of the bedding block from the top surface to the bottom surface and is functionally adapted to receive an ammunition magazine in it.
9 . The rifle bedding block of claim 8 further comprising an aperture above the trigger guard, such aperture being functionally adapted to receive the trigger of the action through it.
10 . The rifle bedding block of claim 1 wherein the bedding block is formed of a single piece of machined metal material.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
