Abstract

Systems, methods, and devices are provided for receiving media content comprising a plurality of media channels; transmitting information related to the media content to at least one remote control; receiving, responsive to the transmitted information, user input related to different media channels of the plurality of media channels; concurrently tuning, based on the user input, the media content to the different media channels; converting the media content in the different media channels into transmission signals; and selectively transmit the transmission signals to different network devices.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A media device comprising:
a media content receiver to receive, from a content provider, media content comprising a plurality of media channels; a transceiver configured to bi-directionally communicate with at least one remote control; a plurality of tuners configured to concurrently tune to different media channels, of the plurality of media channels, based on commands received from the at least one remote control; and a media transmission system configured to selectively transmit media content associated with one or more select media channels, of the different media channels, to one or more network devices.

2 . The media device of claim 1 , wherein the transceiver is further configured to transmit information to the at least one remote control.

3 . The media device of claim 2 , wherein the information comprises at least one of:
programming information associated with the select media channel, or advertising information.

4 . The media device of claim 2 , wherein the transceiver is further configured to provide the information for presentation, to a user, via the at least one remote control.

5 . The media device of claim 2 , wherein the information comprises information to be displayed via the at least one remote control.

6 . The media device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one remote control comprises a plurality of remote controls, the media device further comprising:
a processor, coupled to the transceiver, configured to identify each of the remote controls associated with different communications received via the transceiver.

7 . The media device of claim 1 , further comprising:
an antenna to wirelessly transmit the media content to the one or more network devices.

8 . The media device of claim 1 , wherein the media transmission system comprises at least one radio frequency transmitter.

         9 . A method comprising:
receiving, at a media content receiver, media content comprising a plurality of media channels; receiving, via a transceiver, user input wirelessly transmitted from at least one remote control; concurrently tuning, at a plurality of tuners, to different media channels of the plurality of media channels, based on the user input; converting, at a processor, the media content associated with the different media channels into transmission signals; selectively transmitting, based on the user input, the transmission signals to one or more network devices; and transmitting, to the at least one remote control, information related to the transmission signals.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein transmitting the information comprises at least one of:
providing a program guide in response to the user input, or providing advertising information.

11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein transmitting the information comprises providing the information for presentation, to a user, via the at least one remote control.

12 . The method of claim 9 , wherein transmitting the information comprises providing displayable information to be displayed via the at least one remote control.

13 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the at least one remote control comprises a plurality of remote controls, the method further comprising:
distinguishing the user input received from different ones of the plurality of remote controls.

14 . The method of claim 9 , wherein selectively transmitting the transmission signals comprises wirelessly transmitting one or more of the transmission signals in a frequency range that corresponds to a television broadcast channel.

15 . A storage medium, having stored thereon sequences of instructions which, when executed by at least one processor cause the at least one processor to:
receive media content comprising a plurality of media channels; transmit information related to the media content to at least one remote control; receive, responsive to the transmitted information, user input related to different media channels of the plurality of media channels; concurrently tune, based on the user input, the media content to the different media channels; convert the media content in the different media channels into transmission signals; and selectively transmit the transmission signals to different network devices.

16 . The storage medium of claim 15 , wherein, when transmitting the information, the at least one processor is further configured to provide at least one of:
a program guide related, or advertising information.

17 . The storage medium of claim 15 , wherein, when transmitting the information, the at least one processor is further configured to provide the information for presentation, to a user, via the at least one remote control.

18 . The storage medium of claim 15 , wherein, when transmitting the information, the at least one processor further configured to provide information to be displayed via the at least one remote control.

19 . The storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the at least one remote control comprises a plurality of remote controls, and the at least one processor is further configured to distinguish the user input received from different ones of the plurality of remote controls.

20 . The storage medium of claim 15 , wherein, when selectively transmitting the transmission signals, the at least one processor is further configured to wirelessly broadcast in a frequency range that corresponds to a television broadcast channel.
