Abstract

A mounting bracket assembly includes a base member for attachment to substructure of an exterior wall at least in part beneath siding. A trim member is configured to be coupled to the base member to conceal ends of the siding. A first series of baffles extends transversely from the base member. A first drip ledge is spaced from the first series of baffles to define a cavity between the first drip ledge and the first series of baffles. The first drip ledge extends transversely from the base member for disposition below the first series of baffles when the base member is mounted to the substructure to divert the water from the cavity to an exterior of the siding. The drip ledge has an end dam at first and second ends of the drip ledge for diverting water from the cavity onto the first drip ledge.

21 . The mounting bracket assembly as set forth in claim 20 further including bosses at the first and second ends of the first drip ledge with the bosses carrying the end dams.

22 . The mounting bracket assembly as set forth in claim 21 wherein the bosses each define a bore and wherein the trim member presents pins configured to extend into the bores for engaging the trim member to the base member.

23 . The mounting bracket assembly as set forth in claim 20 wherein each baffle of the first series of baffles slopes toward the cavity for channeling water from the siding to the cavity.

24 . The mounting bracket assembly as set forth in claim 20 wherein the first drip ledge includes a shelf portion extending transversely to the base member and a draped portion spaced from the base member and extending from the shelf portion in a direction away from the cavity.

25 . The mounting bracket assembly as set forth in claim 24 further including spacers extending from the draped portion for spacing the trim member from the draped portion.

26 . The mounting bracket assembly as set forth in claim 24 further including living hinge connecting the trim member and the draped portion of the first drip ledge with the trim member selectively pivotable relative to first drip ledge about the living hinge.

27 . The mounting bracket assembly as set forth in claim 20 further including a wall arrangement extending from the base member between the first series of baffles and the first drip ledge.

28 . A mounting bracket assembly for an exterior wall having a substructure covered by siding, the mounting bracket assembly comprising:
a base member having a mounting flange for attachment to the substructure at least in part beneath the siding; a trim member configured to be coupled to the base member and spaced from the mounting flange to conceal ends of the siding; a first series of baffles with each baffle of the first series of baffles extending from the base member and spaced from each other; a second series of baffles extending along the base member transversely to the first series of baffles with each baffle of the second series of baffles extending from the base member and spaced from each other; a first drip ledge spaced from the first series of baffles to define a cavity between the first drip ledge and the first series of baffles, the first drip ledge extending transversely from the base member for diverting the water from the cavity to an exterior of the siding; and a second drip ledge spaced from the second series of baffles extending transversely from the base member for diverting the water from the cavity to the exterior of the siding; wherein the first drip ledge extends along the base member from a first end to a second end of the first drip ledge and the second drip ledge extends along the base member from a first end to a second end of the second drip ledge, the first and second ends of the first drip ledge and the first and second ends of the second drip ledge each having end dams for diverting water from the cavity onto the respective drip ledge.

29 . The mounting bracket assembly as set forth in claim 28 further including bosses at the first and second ends of the first drip ledge and at the first and second ends of the second drip ledge with the bosses carrying the end dams.
