Breastpumps and methods for use in extracting breastmilk, which can be used to generate, among other things, both a letdown or stimulation phase and a milk expression phase, are disclosed.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A breastpump comprising:
a breastshield having a portion within which at least part of a woman's breast is received; a source of pressure in communication with said breastshield; and a mechanism operating said pressure according to a first pre-set milk letdown sequence, followed by a pre-set milk expression sequence, wherein said milk expression sequence operates in a mode of fewer cycles per minute than said milk letdown sequence.

         2 . A method for breastpumping comprising:
providing a breastshield having a portion within which at least a part of a woman's breast is received for the expression of milk; providing a source of pressure that is in communication with the breastshield; and operating said source of pressure according to a first letdown sequence and then operating said source of pressure according to a second expression sequence, wherein said expression sequence comprises fewer cycles per minute than said letdown sequence.
