Use of Estrogenic Compounds in Combination with Progestogenic Compounds in Hormone-Replacement Therapy

Abstract

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical kit comprising a plurality of oral dosage units which comprise a progestogen. The progestogen is levonorgestrel, norgestimate, norethisterone, drospirenone, dydrogesterone, trimegestone, dienogest, precursors thereof and mixtures thereof. The kit comprises an amount of progestogen equivalent to 30-500 mg of levonorgestrel, 1-40 mg of ethinyl estradiol and 02-100 mg dehydroepiandrosterone.

         17 . A pharmaceutical kit comprising a plurality of oral dosage units which comprise a progestogen selected from the group consisting of levonorgestrel, norgestimate, norethisterone, drospirenone, dydrogesterone, trimegestone, dienogest, precursors thereof and mixtures thereof in an amount equivalent to 30-500 μg levonorgestrel; 1 to 40 μg ethinyl estradiol; and 20 to 100 mg dehydroepiandrosterone. 
     
     
         18 . The pharmaceutical kit according to claim  1 , wherein the oral dosage units comprise a progestogen in an amount equivalent to 50-400 μg levonorgestrel. 
     
     
         19 . The pharmaceutical kit according to claim  1 , wherein the oral dosage units comprise at least 40 mg dehydroepiandrosterone. 
     
     
         20 . The pharmaceutical kit according to claim  1 , wherein the oral dosage units comprise not more than 80 mg dehydroepiandrosterone. 
     
     
         21 . The pharmaceutical kit according to claim  4 , wherein the oral dosage units comprise not more than 60 mg dehydroepiandrosterone. 
     
     
         22 . The pharmaceutical kit according to claim  1 , wherein the kit comprises at least 10 oral dosage units. 
     
     
         23 . The pharmaceutical kit according to claim  6 , wherein the kit comprises at least 60 oral dosage units. 
     
     
         24 . The pharmaceutical kit according to claim  1 , wherein the oral dosage units are tablets or capsules.
