The invention also provides a method of treating a wound in a patient suffering from a wound which comprises administering a therapeutically effective amount of an oxandrolone to the patient. The subject invention further provides a method of treating burn-induced weight loss in a burn patient which comprises administering a therapeutically effective amount of an oxandrolone in conjunction with a protein supplement to the patient.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 29 . (canceled)
30 . A method of restoring lean body mass in a patient afflicted with catabolism induced weight loss which comprises administering to the patient 10 mg to 100 mg of oxandrolone per day in conjugate with a protein supplement, so as to thereby restore lean body mass in the patient.
31 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the amount of oxandrolone administered is about 80 mg per day.
32 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the amount of oxandrolone administered is about 20 mg per day.
33 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the amount of oxandrolone administered is about 10 mg per day.
34 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the oxandrolone is administered orally, topically, or by injection.
35 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the oxandrolone is in a solid dosage form, a liquid dosage form, or a sustained-release formulation.
36 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the oxandrolone is 17α-methyl-17β-hydroxy-2-oxa-5α-androstan-3-one.
37 . The method of claim 30 , wherein a daily protein intake of approximate 2.0 g/kg/day is achieved in the patient.
38 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the oxandrolone is administered for a period of three weeks.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
