Abstract
Compositions and methods of promoting wound healing in a human by administering to the human mesenchymal stem cells in an effective amount.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A composition comprising allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells in an amount effective to promote wound healing in a human, wherein the wound is selected from the group consisting of cuts, lacerations, and burns.
. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the wound comprises epithelial damage caused by burns, cuts, and lacerations.
. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is administered directly to the wound.
. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the mesenchymal stem cells are not genetically manipulated.
. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the mesenchymal stem cells induce the secretion of a factor selected from the group consisting of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), growth hormone, insulin, insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3 (IGFBP-3), and endothelin-1.
. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the mesenchymal stem cells express one or more cell surface markers selected from the group consisting of CD73, CD105, and CD166.
. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the mesenchymal stem cells bind to an antibody selected from the group consisting of an antibody produced from hybridoma cell line SH2, ATCC accession number HB 10743, an antibody produced from hybridoma cell line SH3, ATCC accession number HB 10744, and an antibody produced from hybridoma cell line SH4, ATCC accession number HB 10745
. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the mesenchymal stem cells are administered to the wound using a dressing or reservoir containing the mesenchymal stem cells.
. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the mesenchymal stem cells are administered in a topical application as a liquid or gel.
. (canceled)
. A method of promoting would healing in a human patient comprising the steps of administering a composition comprising allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells in an amount effective to promote wound healing in a human, wherein the wound comprises epithelial damage caused by burns, cuts, and lacerations.
. The method of claim 11 , wherein the mesenchymal stem cells are administered directly to the wound.
. The method of claim 11 , wherein the mesenchymal stem cell are not genetically manipulated.
. The method of claim 11 , wherein the mesenchymal stem cells induce the secretion of a factor selected from the group consisting of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), growth hormone, insulin, insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3 (IGFBP-3), and endothelin-1.
. The method of claim 11 , wherein the mesenchymal stem cells are administered to the wound using a dressing or reservoir containing the mesenchymal stem cells.
. The method of claim 11 , wherein the mesenchymal stem cells are administered topically in a liquid or gel.
. The method of claim 11 , wherein the mesenchymal stem cells promote the secretion of anti-inflammatory cytokines.
. The method of claim 11 , wherein the anti-inflammatory cytokines comprise IL4 or IL10.
. The method of claim 11 , wherein the mesenchymal stem cells express one or more cell surface markers selected from the group consisting of CD73, CD105, and CD166.
. The method of claim 11 , wherein the mesenchymal stem cells bind to an antibody selected from the group consisting of an antibody produced from hybridoma cell line SH2, ATCC accession number HB 10743, an antibody produced from hybridoma cell line SH3, ATCC accession number HB 10744, and an antibody produced from hybridoma cell line SH4, ATCC accession number HB 10745.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
