Abstract

An apparatus for removing foreign materials on a can of a rechargeable battery according to an embodiment comprises: a can in which an electrode assembly is embedded; a puck on which the can is mounted; and a suction tube configured to remove foreign materials attached to an end of the can by forming a flow of air at an end of an opening formed on one side of the can.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An apparatus for removing foreign materials on a can of a rechargeable battery, comprising:
a can in which an electrode assembly is embedded; a puck on which the can is mounted; and a suction tube configured to remove foreign materials attached to an end of the can by forming a flow of air at an end of an opening formed on one side of the can.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
a conveyor configured to transfer the puck, wherein the puck is disposed on the conveyor; and a holder for the suction tube provided on an upper side of the puck and configured to hold the suction tube.

3 . The apparatus of claim 2 , further comprising:
a lifting cylinder configured to lift the holder for the suction tube toward the opening of the can.

         4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein:
the suction tube has an inner diameter that is larger than an outer diameter of the can.

         5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein:
the can has a cylindrical shape, the suction tube is configured to fall to form the flow of air at the end of the opening, and the suction tube and the can are positioned on a line along a lengthwise direction of the can and share a range of overlapping length in the lengthwise direction.

         6 . The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein:
the suction tube is disposed at an outer side of the end of the opening to receive the end.

         7 . The apparatus of claim 6 , wherein:
the inner surface of the suction tube and the outer surface of the end form an interval space therebetween.

8 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
stoppers that are disposed at opposite sides of the can and the lower side of the suction tube, wherein the stoppers are configured to move toward and away from the side of the can to support the side of the can.

         9 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein:
the stopper includes a can supporting portion configured to support the side of the can, and a puck supporting portion mounted with the can supporting portion and configured to support the side of the puck.

10 . The apparatus of claim 9 , further comprising:
a guide provided on a lower side of the puck supporting portion and on a conveyor transferring the puck, wherein the guide is configured to support the side of the puck and transfer the puck on the conveyor.

11 . An apparatus for removing foreign materials on a can of a rechargeable battery, comprising:
a puck with a surface for mounting of a can of a rechargeable battery; and a suction tube configured to be lifted toward an opening of the can and fall to form a flow of air at the end of the opening.

12 . The apparatus of claim 11 further comprising a holder for the suction tube provided on an upper side of the puck.

13 . The apparatus of claim 11 further comprising a conveyor configured to transfer the puck, wherein the puck is disposed on the conveyor.

14 . The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the suction tube has an inner diameter that is larger than an outer diameter of the can.

15 . The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the suction tube and the can share a range of overlapping length in the lengthwise direction.
