Abstract

A modular brick or block outdoor structure includes an outdoor structure that is constructed in modular sections. Each modular section is fabricated from a plurality of paving bricks or retaining wall blocks that match the brick or block used to construct the patio. The bricks or blocks are preferably assembled to each other with adhesive. Each modular section includes means for transporting thereof with some type of equipment, if necessary. It is preferable that each modular section include channels to receive lifting forks of an end loader or other suitable transport device, if necessary. However, other methods of transporting the modular section may also be used.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method of constructing a modular section comprising the steps of:
providing a plurality of bricks, a plurality of blocks, or a combination of a plurality of bricks and blocks; providing an adhesive; using the adhesive to secure and assemble the plurality of bricks, blocks, or combination thereof in a assembled configuration of such bricks, blocks or combination thereof at a first site, the assembled configuration having a bottom portion; forming two channels within the bottom portion during the adhesive securement and assembly step; moving the assembled configuration from the first site to a second site; installing the modular section at the second site; providing a pair of bricks, blocks, a combination of bricks and blocks, or a portion thereof; and inserting the pair of bricks, blocks, a combination thereof, or a portion of such pair, into the two channels to cosmetically hide the channels from view following installation of the modular section at the second site.

2 . The method of claim 1 wherein the step of forming the two channels comprises forming the two channels such that each channel receives a lifting fork therewithin.

3 . The method of claim 2 further comprising the step of combining the modular section with at least one other modular section as part of an outdoor structure at the second site.

4 . The method of claim 3 wherein the outdoor structure comprises an outdoor fireplace, the fireplace comprising a first modular section in the form of a fireplace base; a fire box in the fireplace base; a second modular section in the form of a hearth; a third modular section in the form of a chimney; a flue pipe in the chimney; a termination flue cap; and a fourth modular section in the form of a decorative cap.

5 . The method of claim 4 further comprising the step of providing a fifth modular section in the form of a wood box.

6 . The method of claim 4 further comprising the steps of providing a fifth modular section in the form of a first wood box and providing a sixth modular section in the form of a second wood box.

7 . The method of combining modular sections of claim 3 wherein the outdoor structure is an outdoor kitchen.

8 . The method of claim 7 further comprising the step of providing one or more kitchen components from a group consisting of a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a cabinet, a burner, an audio speaker, a back splash, lights or a bar top.

9 . The method of claim 1 wherein the assembly step further comprises the step of constructing the assembled configuration on top of a pallet.

10 . The method of claim 9 further wherein the assembly step further comprises the step of adhering a plurality of bricks, blocks, or combination thereof to the pallet to conceal the pallet.

11 . The method of claim 2 wherein the assembled configuration is an outdoor fire pit, the fire pit further comprising a pit enclosure, a pit liner and a pit top.

12 . The method of claim 2 wherein the assembled configuration is one or more from a group consisting of an outdoor pillar, an outdoor wall, a wall corner connector, and a planter.

13 . A method of constructing an outdoor modular section comprising the steps of:
providing a plurality of bricks, a plurality of blocks, or a combination of a plurality of bricks and blocks; providing an adhesive to secure the plurality of bricks, blocks, or combination thereof together; and to form an assembled configuration; securing the plurality of bricks, blocks or combination thereof together at a first site to form an assembled configuration using the adhesive, the assembled configuration having a bottom portion, the bottom portion being constructed of bricks or blocks so as to leave two channels, therewithin, the channels each being large enough and deep enough so as to accommodate the lift fork of an end loader or the like; moving the assembled configuration from the first site to a second site using the two channels and a pair of lift forks of an end loader or the like; installing the assembled configuration at the second site; providing a pair of bricks, blocks, a combination of bricks and blocks, or a portion thereof; and inserting the pair of bricks, blocks, a combination thereof, or a portion of such pair, into the two channels to cosmetically hide the channels from view following installation of the assembled configuration at the second site.

14 . The method of claim 13 further comprising the step of combining the modular section with at least one other modular section as part of an outdoor structure at the second site.

15 . The method of claim 14 wherein the outdoor structure comprises an outdoor fireplace, the fireplace comprising a first modular section in the form of a fireplace base; a fire box in the fireplace base; a second modular section in the form of a hearth; a third modular section in the form of a chimney; a flue pipe in the chimney; a termination flue cap; and a fourth modular section in the form of a decorative cap.

16 . The method of claim 15 further comprising the step of providing a fifth modular section in the form of a wood box.

17 . The method of claim 15 further comprising the steps of providing a fifth modular section in the form of a first wood box and providing a sixth modular section in the form of a second wood box.

18 . The method of combining modular sections of claim 15 wherein the outdoor structure is an outdoor kitchen.

19 . The method of claim 18 further comprising the step of providing one or more kitchen components from a group consisting of a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a cabinet, a burner, an audio speaker, a back splash, lights or a bar top.

20 . The method of claim 13 wherein the assembly step further comprises the step of constructing the assembled configuration on top of a pallet.

21 . The method of claim 20 further wherein the assembly step further comprises the step of adhering a plurality of bricks, blocks, or combination thereof to the pallet to conceal the pallet.

22 . The method of claim 13 wherein the assembled configuration is an outdoor fire pit, the fire pit further comprising a pit enclosure, a pit liner and a pit top.
