Abstract

Devices, systems and methods employ magnetic force to resist tissue collapse in targeted pharyngeal structures and individual anatomic components within the pharyngeal conduit during sleep.

 a first magnetically interactive material sized and configured for placement in or on a tongue, and   a second magnetically interactive material sized and configured for placement in a desired relationship with the tongue to magnetically interact with the first magnetically interactive material by repelling the first magnetically interactive material to stabilized a preferred orientation of the tongue.
