Abstract

A parasol that includes a stem having a longitudinal axis, stays, operating arms hingeably connected at a first end thereof to the stays, and an actuator which collapes and extends the parasol. The actuator includes a spindle, a spindle guide and a drive unit, such that the actuator is coupled to the stem and configured for displacing a second end of the operating arms and ends of the stays relative to one another along the longitudinal axis of the stem. The ends of the stays are hingeably coupled to the drive unit.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A parasol comprising:
a stem having a longitudinal axis; stays; operating arms hingeably connected at a first end thereof to the stays; and an actuator for collapsing and extending the parasol, the actuator comprising a spindle, a spindle guide and a drive unit, the actuator being coupled to the stem and configured for displacing a second end of the operating arms and ends of the stays relative to one another along the longitudinal axis of the stem, wherein the ends of the stays are hingeably coupled to the drive unit.

2 . The parasol of claim 1 , wherein the drive unit is provided substantially at the top of the parasol.

         3 . A parasol comprising:
a stem having a longitudinal axis, the stem comprising a bottom part and an upper part movable along the longitudinal axis with respect to the bottom part; stays hingeably connected at first ends thereof to the upper part; operating arms hingeably connected at a first end thereof to the stays; and an actuator configured to collapse and extend the parasol, the actuator comprising a spindle, a spindle guide and a drive unit, the actuator also configured to move the upper part of the stem along the longitudinal axis with respect to the bottom part so as to displace a second end of the operating arms and the first end of the stays relative to one another along the longitudinal axis of the stem.

4 . The parasol of claim 33 , wherein the upper part of the stem comprises the spindle.

5 . The parasol of claim 4 , wherein the upper part of the stem comprises the drive unit.

6 . The parasol of claim 3 , wherein the upper part of the stem is movable along the longitudinal axis within the bottom part.

         7 . A parasol comprising:
a stem having a longitudinal axis; stays hingeably connected at first ends thereof to an element movable along the longitudinal axis; operating arms hingeably connected at a first end thereof to the stays; and an actuator configured to collapse and extend the parasol, the actuator comprising a spindle, a spindle guide and a drive unit, the actuator also configured to displace a second end of the operating arms and the element to which the first end of the stays are hingeably connected relative to one another along the longitudinal axis of the stem.

8 . The parasol of claim 7 , wherein the element to which the first end of the stays are hingeably connected comprises the drive unit.
