Abstract

The present invention relates to the use of an adhesive mass at least containing an acid-anhydride-modified vinyl aromatic block copolymer, a metal chelate, and an adhesive resin for bonding optical components, particularly optical films, wherein the adhesive mass has a transmittance greater than 86% and a haze less than 5%.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . The use of an adhesive at least comprising an acid anhydride-modified vinylaromatic block copolymer, a metal chelate, and a tackifier resin, for the bonding of optical components, more particularly optical films,
 the adhesive having a transmittance of greater than 86% and a haze of less than 5%.

         2 . The use as claimed in claim 1 , characterized in that the adhesive is a pressure-sensitive adhesive.

         3 . The use as claimed in claim 1 or 2 , characterized in that the metal chelate conforms to the following formula:
   (R 1 O) n M(XR 2 Y) m

       where M
 is a metal,
 R 1 is an alkyl or aryl group, more particularly methyl, ethyl, butyl, isopropyl or benzyl,
 n is zero or an integer greater than zero (n≧0),
 X is oxygen or nitrogen,
 Y is oxygen or nitrogen,
 where X═Y is also possible and
 where X and/or Y may be bonded to R 2  by a double bond;

 R 2  is an alkylene group joining X and Y, where the alkylene group may be branched, or else may contain oxygen and/or further heteroatoms in the chain;
 m is an integer, but is at least 1 (m≧1).

         4 . The use as claimed in any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the metal of the metal chelate is selected from main groups 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the Periodic Table and also the transition metals,
 preferably in that the metal of the metal chelate is aluminum.

         5 . The use as claimed in any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the acid anhydride-modified vinylaromatic block copolymer is a block copolymer formed of vinylaromatic (A blocks) and those formed by polymerization of 1,3-dienes (B blocks).

         6 . The use as claimed in any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the adhesive has a fraction of at least 20%, preferably of at least 30%, more preferably of at least 35% by weight of vinylaromatic block copolymer, and/or in that the same has a fraction of not more than 70%, preferably of not more than 60%, more preferably of not more than 55% by weight of vinylaromatic block copolymer.

         7 . The use as claimed in any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the fraction of acid anhydride is between 0.5% and 4% by weight, based on the overall block copolymer.

         8 . The use as claimed in any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the adhesive has a pH in the range from pH 6 to pH 8.

         9 . The use as claimed in any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the optical component is electrically conductive.
