Heater Control in a Radio Network Node
Abstract
The present invention relates to an arrangement ( 100 ) and a method in a radio network node ( 200 ) for controlling a heater ( 101 ). The arrangement comprises a heater for warming air in the arrangement and at least a first flow generating device ( 102 ) and a second flow generating device ( 103 ) for generating a general air flow ( 105 ) within the arrangement. The heater ( 101 ) is arranged in between the first flow generating device ( 102 ) and the second flow generating device ( 103 ) whereby the air flowing through the heater ( 101 ) becomes dependent on the setting of the first and second flow generating devices.

6 . An arrangement for controlling a heater in a radio network node, the arrangement comprising:
a first flow generating device and a second flow generating device, each configured to generate a general flow of fluid within the arrangement, a heater that is configured to warm fluid within the arrangement and that is positioned in between the first flow generating device and the second flow generating device, and a controller configured to control fluid flow through the heater by controlling the first and second flow generating devices, to thereby control the temperature of, or the heat generation of, the heater based on a difference in the velocity of the fluid flow generated by the first flow generating device and the velocity of the fluid flow generated by the second flow generating device.
7 . The arrangement according to claim 6 , wherein the heater is a Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) heater.
8 . The arrangement according to claim 6 , wherein the heater is a metal tube heater.
9 . The arrangement according to claim 6 , wherein the radio network node is a radio base station.
10 . A method in a radio network node arrangement for controlling a heater, the arrangement comprising the heater, a first flow generating device, and a second flow generating device, wherein the first and second flow generating devices are configured to generate a general flow of fluid in the arrangement, the method comprising:
generating a first fluid flow from the first flow generating device at one side of the heater, generating a second fluid flow from the second flow generating device at the opposite side of the heater, controlling fluid flow through the heater by regulating the first and second flow generating devices, to thereby control the temperature of, or the heat generation of, the heater based on a difference in the velocities of the first and second fluid flows.
11 . The method according to claim 10 , wherein the heater is a Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) heater.
12 . The method according to claim 10 , wherein the heater is a metal tube heater.
