Interface between online salary statement and tax declaration program

Abstract

A method of electronically reporting information in response to an agency's request for information is disclosed. The electronic reporting process allows a user to report data and to file a declaration with the requesting agency. In particular, a tax agency can electronically request income tax information from a taxpayer. The taxpayer's employer can provide its employee's tax information electronically. The taxpayer can file a tax declaration with the tax agency electronically.

         9 . A method for a user to report data to a requesting agency, the method comprising:
 obtaining an electronic report form from said agency requesting data pertaining to a named party of said report form;   entering data electronically pertaining to said named party by a party in possession of reporting data; and   incorporating data from said completed report form with additional data in possession of said named party to electronically make a declaration to said agency.   
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , further comprising said named party electronically submitting said completed report form to said agency. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 9 , further comprising said agency electronically acknowledging receipt of said completed report form. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 9 , further comprising said agency authenticating said report form. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein said report form is an electronic token. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 13 , further comprising modifying said electronic token responsive to activity of said named party, to produce a modified electronic token. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 14 , further comprising returning said modified electronic token to said requesting agency. 
     
     
         16 . A data reporting apparatus comprising:
 a processor;   a database coupled to the processor, the database containing reporting data capable of entering data pertaining to a named party in a report form; and   an interface capable of interconnecting an agency and a plurality of users for exchanging electronic files.   
     
     
         17 . A data reporting apparatus as recited in  claim 16 , further comprising an interactive application allowing said named party to provide additional data to make a declaration to said agency. 
     
     
         18 . A data reporting apparatus as recited in  claim 16 , further comprising an authentication mechanism. 
     
     
         19 . A data reporting apparatus as recited in  claim 16 , further comprising means for interacting with a user. 
     
     
         20 . A data reporting apparatus as recited in  claim 16 , wherein the processor is to obtain an electronic report form from said agency requesting data pertaining to a named party of said report form, enter data electronically pertaining to said named party by a party in possession of reporting data, and incorporate data from said completed report form with additional data in possession of said named party to electronically make a declaration to said agency.
