Viral Syndicated Interactive Product System and Method Therefor

Abstract

A method for facilitating the order of commercial products in connection with the display of media content, whereby a player comprises a media production component and an interactive e-commerce component embedded therein. The player with the e-commerce component can be virally copied and propagated from one web page to any number of other web pages.

1 . A method for facilitating the sale of a product in connection with the display of media content, the method comprising:
 generating a player frame in a first web page;   reserving at least a first portion of said player frame for said media content;   reserving at least a second portion of said player frame for an interactive e-commerce component;   embedding first code in said player frame effective for retrieving said media content and placing said media content in said first portion of said player;   embedding second code in said player frame effective for retrieving said interactive e-commerce component and placing said interactive e-commerce component in said second portion of said player; and   virally copying said player frame to a second web page.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein said media content is a video production. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein said media content is a motion picture production. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein said media content is an audio production. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising embedding code for retrieving a playlist for said player, said play list being configured for providing a list of media content which may be selected for said media content. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising embedding code for retrieving a product list for said player, said product list being configured for providing a list of products which may be selected for said interactive e-commerce component. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein said media content is a video and said interactive e-commerce component includes a list of products correlated with at least one item associated with said video. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein said media content is at least one of a motion picture trailer and motion picture, and said interactive e-commerce component includes a list of products correlated with at least one item associated with said at least one of a motion picture trailer and motion picture. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein said media content is audio and said interactive e-commerce component includes a list of products correlated with at least one item associated with said audio. 
     
     
         10 . A system for implementing the sale of a product in connection with the display of media content, the system comprising:
 an enterprise nucleus;   one or more syndicated e-commerce applications coupled in data communication to said enterprise nucleus, said one or more syndicated e-commerce applications including an input terminal for facilitating entry of data by a user and an output terminal for communicating data to a user;   an e-commerce platform coupled in data communication to said enterprise nucleus.   
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 10 , further comprising at least one content distribution network (CDN) coupled in data communication to said enterprise nucleus. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 10 , further comprising at least one advertising network coupled in data communication to said enterprise nucleus. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said one or more syndicated e-commerce applications comprise a mobile device application. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said one or more syndicated e-commerce applications comprise a social media application. 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said one or more syndicated e-commerce applications comprise a syndicated media player. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said one or more syndicated e-commerce applications comprise a syndicated store application. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said one or more syndicated e-commerce applications comprise a game console. 
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said one or more syndicated e-commerce applications comprise an Internet protocol television (IPTV). 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said one or more syndicated e-commerce applications comprise a satellite television receiver. 
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said one or more syndicated e-commerce applications comprise a cable television receiver. 
     
     
         21 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said at least one CDN comprises:
 at least one encoding server coupled to said enterprise nucleus;   at least one third party CDN coupled to each said at least one encoding server; and   at least one edge server coupled to each said at least one third party CDN.   
     
     
         22 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said at least one advertising network comprises:
 at least one third party advertising server coupled to enterprise nucleus; and   at least one edge server coupled to each said at least one third party advertising server.   
     
     
         23 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said at least one advertising network comprises:
 at least one third party advertising server coupled to said at least one CDN;   at least one edge server coupled to each said at least one third party advertising server; and   a communication network through which said at least one edge server is coupled to at least one content provider.   
     
     
         24 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said e-commerce platform comprises:
 an e-commerce system coupled in data communication to said enterprise nucleus;   an accounting system coupled to said e-commerce system;   a payment gateway coupled to said e-commerce system;   a fulfillment center coupled to said e-commerce system; and   a warehouse management system coupled to said fulfillment system.   
     
     
         25 . The system of  claim 10 , further comprising a Secure Data Decryption Server (SDDS) for decrypting registration application data received from said one or more e-commerce applications, said SDDS being further coupled to said e-commerce platform for transmitting decrypted registration application data to said one or more e-commerce platforms. 
     
     
         26 . The system of  claim 10 , further comprising a communication network for coupling at least one of said one or more e-commerce applications to said enterprise nucleus. 
     
     
         27 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said enterprise nucleus includes a computer having at least a processor and a memory operably coupled to said processor, said memory being configured for storing a computer program executable by said processor, said computer program comprising:
 computer program code for receiving from one of said one or more e-commerce applications a request for at least one of media, products, and offers, and for transmitting said request to at least one of said CDN and said advertising network;   computer program code for receiving from said at least one of said CDN and said advertising network said at least one of media, products, and offers and for transmitting said at least one of media, products, and offers to said one of said one or more e-commerce applications;   computer program code for receiving from said one of said one or more e-commerce applications a registration ID and a purchase order, and for transmitting said registration ID and a purchase order to said e-commerce platform; and   computer program code for receiving from said e-commerce platform transaction data relating to said registration ID and a purchase order, and for transmitting said transaction data to said one of said one or more e-commerce applications.   
     
     
         28 . A system for facilitating the sale of a product in connection with the display of media content, the method comprising:
 an enterprise nucleus;   one or more syndicated e-commerce applications coupled in data communication to said enterprise nucleus, said one or more syndicated e-commerce applications including an input terminal for facilitating entry of data by a user and an output terminal for communicating data to a user;   wherein said one or more syndicated e-commerce applications includes a computer having at least a processor and a memory operably coupled to said processor, said memory being configured for storing a computer program executable by said processor, said computer program comprising:   computer program code for generating a request for at least one of media, products, and offers, and for transmitting said request to said enterprise nucleus for transmission to at least one of said CDN and said advertising network;   computer program code for receiving from said enterprise nucleus said at least one of media, products, and offers;   computer program code for displaying said at least one of media, products, and offers;   computer program code for receiving user input for placing a purchase order for at least one of a product and an offer;   computer program code for determining whether user is registered for placing a purchase order with an e-commerce platform;   upon a determination that user is registered, obtaining registration ID and purchase order and transmitting registration ID and purchase order to said enterprise nucleus for transmission to said e-commerce platform;   upon a determination that user is not registered, prompting user for registration application data needed to register, encrypting registration application data, and forwarding registration application data with purchase order to a secure data decryption server (SDDS);   computer program code for receiving response to purchase order, said response being to post or deny transaction; and   computer program code for displaying to user said response to purchase order.
