Unitary section having nose and fins to render a beverage bottle aerodynamic
Abstract
Disclosed herein are flying beverage bottles having a unitary part secured to a beverage bottle, the part having a nose and fins connected by extensions, the part being deformable and securable to a beverage bottle in a fully inserted position, thereby providing a configuration for aerodynamic guidance of the bottle through the air. A cavity may be formed within a unitary part for insertion of a beverage bottle. A unitary part may attach to the threads of a bottleneck, or may attach over a cap. A unitary part may be formed as a single part, such as molded in plastic, or may be assembled from a plurality of parts. Detailed information on various example embodiments of the inventions are provided in the Detailed Description below, and the inventions are defined by the appended claims.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A throwable beverage product having a detachable finned section, comprising:
a bottle body having a bottom and an interior, and wherein said body interior is capable of holding a beverage; a neck incorporated in said bottle body, said neck including an opening through which a beverage may be placed into or removed from said interior; a nose configured to attach to said bottle; a finned section attachable to said bottle body, said finned section when attached positioning a plurality of fins configured to provide aerodynamic guidance of said body as said body travels through the air in a direction defined by a vector originating from the center of said fins toward said nose in it's attached position, wherein said nose and said finned section are formed from the same part; and a cap portion having a seal fitted to seal said neck and provide enclosure for said interior.
2 . A throwable beverage product according to claim 1 , wherein said body incorporates a cavity, said finned section includes a feature mating to said cavity and said attachment of finned section is accomplished by insertion of said feature into said cavity.
3 . A throwable beverage product according to claim 2 , wherein said cavity and said feature are threaded.
4 . A throwable beverage product according to claim 1 , wherein said finned section is reversible in that there are two different orientations of attaching said finned section to said bottle body and in that the profile of said fins is different when attached in the first orientation from the profile of the second orientation.
5 . A unitary part for converting a selected beverage bottle design into a flying product, comprising:
a nose; fins connected to said nose by extensions, said fins having a normal position with respect to the other fins and said nose; wherein said extensions are configured to deform from the normal position to accept the insertion of a beverage bottle of the selected design between said fins; wherein said extensions and said fins are configured to return toward said normal position when a beverage bottle of the selected design is fully inserted, wherein the position of said unitary part with respect to a beverage bottle of the selected design is in a fully inserted position when a bottle body of the selected design is fully inserted into said unitary part, such that said unitary part is secured to the beverage bottle; and wherein said fins are configured to provide aerodynamic guidance of the combination of said unitary part and a beverage bottle of the selected design inserted therein in the fully inserted position as the combination travels through the air in a direction defined by a vector originating from the center of said fins toward said nose.
6 . A unitary part as recited in claim 5 , wherein said extensions are extension arms.
7 . A unitary part as recited in claim 5 , wherein said extensions are spider arms.
8 . A unitary part as recited in claim 5 , wherein said extensions are configured in a web.
9 . A unitary part as recited in claim 5 , wherein said nose, fins and extensions are molded as a single part.
10 . A unitary part as recited in claim 5 , wherein said unitary part is assembled from a plurality of parts.
11 . A unitary part as recited in claim 5 , wherein said unitary part is configured to attach to the threaded neck of a beverage bottle of the selected design to reach the fully inserted position.
12 . A throwable beverage product having a detachable finned section, comprising:
a bottle body having an interior capable of holding a beverage; a neck incorporated in said bottle body, said neck including an opening through which a beverage may be placed into or removed from said interior; a unitary part comprising a nose; a plurality of fins included within said unitary part, said fins being connected to said nose by extensions, said fins having a normal position with respect to the other fins and said nose; wherein said extensions are configured to deform to accept the insertion of said bottle body between said fins; and wherein said extensions and said fins are configured to return toward said normal position when the beverage bottle is fully inserted, wherein said body and unitary part are in a fully inserted position when said bottle body is fully inserted into said unitary part, such that said unitary part is secured to the beverage bottle; and wherein said fins are configured to provide aerodynamic guidance of said product as said body travels through the air in a direction defined by a vector originating from the center of said fins toward said nose when said product is in the fully inserted position.
13 . A throwable beverage product as recited in claim 12 , wherein said extensions are extension arms.
14 . A throwable beverage product as recited in claim 12 , wherein said extensions are spider arms.
15 . A throwable beverage product as recited in claim 12 , wherein said extensions are configured in a web.
16 . A throwable beverage product as recited in claim 12 , wherein said nose, fins and extensions are molded as a single part.
17 . A throwable beverage product as recited in claim 12 , wherein said unitary part is assembled from a plurality of parts.
18 . A throwable beverage product as recited in claim 12 , wherein said neck is threaded, and further wherein said unitary part is configured to attach to the threads of said neck to reach the fully inserted position.
19 . A throwable beverage product as recited in claim 12 , wherein said nose includes a tip made of a softer material than of other portions of said nose.
20 . A throwable beverage product as recited in claim 12 , further comprising a cap portion having a seal fitted to seal said neck and provide enclosure for said interior, and further wherein said unitary part accepts said bottle body sealed by said cap portion to reach the fully inserted position.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
