Claims

Abstract

Disclosed herein are flying beverage bottles having aerodynamic fins positioned to provide a stand to the bottle in a stable resting position having contact between the bottle body and the resting surface at the fins. The center of the bottle body bottom may not contact the resting surface. Fins may be positioned on opposing sides, in a circumference, or with rotational symmetry providing balance and permitting transport of the bottle through a track. The fins may be straight or angled with respect to the center of the bottle body. The bottle shape may be stackable, such that the fins of one bottles fits into said recess formed in another bottle. The lower portion of a bottle may be boat-tailed. Detailed information on various example embodiments of the inventions are provided in the Detailed Description below, and the inventions are defined by the appended claims.

1 . A throwable beverage product configured to stand on its fins, comprising:
 a bottle body having a bottom and an interior, and wherein said body interior is capable of holding a beverage;   a neck incorporated in said bottle body opposite to said bottle body bottom, said neck including an opening through which a beverage may be placed into or removed from said interior;   fins incorporated to said bottle body, said fins providing for aerodynamic guidance of said body as said body travels through the air in a direction defined by a vector starting from said bottom and to said neck, wherein said fins are configured as a stand for said product;   a nose;   a cap portion having a seal fitted to seal said neck and provide enclosure for said interior; and   wherein shape of the product provides a stable resting position with said neck and any attached nose positioned directly above said fins, the stable resting position providing for contact between said bottle body and the resting surface only on said fins.   
     
     
         2 . A throwable beverage product according to  claim 1 , wherein in the stable resting position said fins extend lower than the lowest central portion of the bottle body, such that the center of the bottle body bottom is not contacted by the resting surface. 
     
     
         3 . A throwable beverage product according to  claim 1 , wherein said fins are provided on opposing sides of said bottle body, wherein said opposing fins provide balance for said product in the stable resting position. 
     
     
         4 . A throwable beverage product according to  claim 1 , wherein said fins are formed within said bottle body in a circumference. 
     
     
         5 . A throwable beverage product according to  claim 1 , wherein said fins configured to permit transport through a track. 
     
     
         6 . A throwable beverage product according to  claim 1 , wherein said fins form a base portion, wherein said fins are located in a substantially circular arrangement, whereby said bottle body may be transported on a track or conveyor without substantial interference between said fins and the track or conveyor. 
     
     
         7 . A throwable beverage product according to  claim 1 , wherein each of said fins define a plane passing through the substantial center of each fin, further wherein said defining vector is locatable within each of the planes of each fin such that the intersection of each of said planes and said defining vector is a line. 
     
     
         8 . A throwable beverage product according to  claim 1 , wherein each of said fins define a plane passing through the substantial center of each fin, further wherein said defining vector may not be positioned to be contained within any of the planes of defined by each fin. 
     
     
         9 . A throwable beverage product according to  claim 1 , wherein said body further includes recesses, wherein said body has a stackable configuration whereby two of said bodies may be stacked together, and further wherein in that stacking one of the fins of one of said bottles fits into said recess formed in the other of said bottles. 
     
     
         10 . An aerodynamic bottle configured to stand on integrated fins, comprising:
 a bottle body having a bottom and an interior, and wherein said body interior is capable of holding a beverage;   a neck incorporated in said bottle body opposite to said bottle body bottom, said neck including an opening through which a beverage may be placed into or removed from said interior;   fins incorporated a portion of said bottle body including said bottom, said fins providing for aerodynamic guidance of said body as said body travels through the air in a direction defined by a vector starting from said bottom and to said neck, wherein said fins are configured as a stand for said product;   wherein said neck is configured to be fitted with a cap having a seal fitted to seal said neck and provide enclosure for said interior; and   wherein shape of the bottle body provides a stable resting position with said neck and any attached nose positioned directly above said fins, the stable resting position providing for contact between said bottle body and the resting surface only on said fins.   
     
     
         11 . A aerodynamic bottle according to  claim 10 , wherein in the stable resting position said fins extend lower than the lowest central portion of the bottle body, such that the center of the bottle body bottom is not contacted by the resting surface. 
     
     
         12 . A aerodynamic bottle according to  claim 10 , wherein said fins are provided on opposing sides of said bottle body, wherein said opposing fins provide balance for said product in the stable resting position.

         14 . A aerodynamic bottle according to  claim 13 , wherein said fins are located to said bottle body with rotational symmetry.

         20 . A aerodynamic bottle according to  claim 10 , wherein the lower portion of the bottle is boat-tailed.
