Abstract

A computer-implemented method, system and computer program product for dynamically managing screen real estate on a remote computer's display is presented. A first computer receives an initial state of screen real estate of a remote computer's display. The first computer detects a change to an external physical environment of the remote computer's display, and then adjusts the initial state of the screen real estate in order to remotely create an adjusted state of the screen real estate.

1 . A computer-implemented method of dynamically managing screen real estate of a remote computer's display, the computer-implemented method comprising:
 a first computer receiving an initial state of screen real estate of a remote computer's display, wherein the initial state describes information displayed on screen real estate of the remote computer's display;   the first computer detecting a change to an external physical environment of the remote computer's display; and   the first computer adjusting the initial state of the screen real estate in order to remotely create an adjusted state of the screen real estate, wherein the adjusted state comports with the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display.   
     
     
         2 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , wherein a fee is charged for displaying content on the remote computer's display, the computer-implemented method further comprising:
 in response to the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display, adjusting a fee for displaying the content on the remote computer's display.   
     
     
         3 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , wherein the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display is a change to a physical location of the remote computer's display within a same building. 
     
     
         4 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , wherein the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display is a change to ambient lighting at the remote computer's display. 
     
     
         5 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , wherein the remote computer's display is a fixed display that is designed to be viewed by occupants of passing motor vehicles, and wherein the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display is a change to a traffic flow of the passing motor vehicles. 
     
     
         6 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , wherein the remote computer's display is affixed to a motor vehicle, and wherein the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display is a change to a physical location of the motor vehicle. 
     
     
         7 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , wherein the adjusted state of the screen real estate reflects a change to content displayed on the remote computer screen. 
     
     
         8 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , wherein the adjusted state of the screen real estate reflects a change to visual appearance of content displayed on the remote computer screen, wherein the change to the visual appearance adjusts a readability of the content while retaining original information represented by the content. 
     
     
         9 . A computer program product for dynamically managing screen real estate of a remote computer's display, the computer program product comprising:
 a computer readable storage media;   first program instructions to receive an initial state of screen real estate of a remote computer's display, wherein the initial state describes information displayed on screen real estate of the remote computer's display;   second program instructions to detect a change to an external physical environment of the remote computer's display; and   third program instructions to adjust the initial state of the screen real estate in order to remotely create an adjusted state of the screen real estate, wherein the adjusted state comports with the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display; and wherein   the first, second and third program instructions are stored on the computer readable storage media.   
     
     
         10 . The computer program product of  claim 9 , wherein a fee is charged for displaying content on the remote computer's display, the computer program product further comprising:
 fourth program instructions to, in response to the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display, adjust a fee for displaying the content on the remote computer's display; and wherein   the fourth program instructions are stored on the computer readable storage media.   
     
     
         11 . The computer program product of  claim 9 , wherein the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display is a change to a physical location of the remote computer's display within a same building. 
     
     
         12 . The computer program product of  claim 9 , wherein the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display is a change to ambient lighting at the remote computer's display. 
     
     
         13 . The computer program product of  claim 9 , wherein the remote computer's display is a fixed display that is designed to be viewed by occupants of passing motor vehicles, and wherein the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display is a change to a traffic flow of the passing motor vehicles. 
     
     
         14 . The computer program product of  claim 9 , wherein the remote computer's display is affixed to a motor vehicle, and wherein the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display is a change to a physical location of the motor vehicle. 
     
     
         15 . The computer program product of  claim 9 , wherein the adjusted state of the screen real estate reflects a change to content displayed on the remote computer screen.

The computer program product of  claim 9 , wherein the adjusted state of the screen real estate reflects a change to visual appearance of content displayed on the remote computer screen, wherein the change to the visual appearance adjusts a readability of the content while retaining original information represented by the content. 
     
     
         17 . The computer program product of  claim 9 , wherein the first, second and third program instructions are downloaded to a client computer from a software deploying server in an on-demand basis. 
     
     
         18 . A computer system comprising:
 a central processing unit (CPU), a computer readable memory, and a computer readable storage media;   first program instructions to receive an initial state of screen real estate of a remote computer's display, wherein the initial state describes information displayed on screen real estate of the remote computer's display;   second program instructions to detect a change to an external physical environment of the remote computer's display; and   third program instructions to adjust the initial state of the screen real estate in order to remotely create an adjusted state of the screen real estate, wherein the adjusted state comports with the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display; and wherein   the first, second and third program instructions are stored on the computer readable storage media for execution by the CPU via the computer readable memory.   
     
     
         19 . The computer system of  claim 18 , wherein a fee is charged for displaying content on the remote computer's display, the computer system further comprising:
 fourth program instructions to, in response to the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display, adjust a fee for displaying the content on the remote computer's display; and wherein   the fourth program instructions are stored on the computer readable storage media for execution by the CPU via the computer readable memory.   
     
     
         20 . The computer system of  claim 18 , wherein the change to the external physical environment of the remote computer's display is a change to ambient lighting at the remote computer's display.
